We recently dined here after making a reservation and had a solid, but not standout, experience…read more The ambiance is super cute--definitely one of the highlights. It has that cozy Italian feel that makes you want to settle in and enjoy a good meal. They're located in this strip mall, but walking in the restaurant made you felt like you were transported somewhere special. They started us off with fresh bread, olive oil, and Parmesan, which we appreciated. One thing I found a bit unusual was that salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes aren't automatically on the table. They do provide them, but only upon request--and it's a standard salt shaker with fresh cracked pepper. Not a big deal, but it feels like something that could have came out with the oil and Parmesan. We started with the calamari, which was nicely fried--crispy on the outside and mostly tender, though a few pieces leaned a bit chewy. The marinara sauce was straightforward and a bit plain, nothing that really elevated the dish. My wife ordered the shrimp pasta. It was decent overall, but when I asked if she would order it again, she said no--which kind of sums it up. I had the clams and linguini in a white wine sauce. The linguini itself was cooked perfectly, but the clams were rubbery, which usually points to being overcooked. The sauce leaned too sharp and acidic, lacking that balance you expect from a proper white wine sauce--typically finished with butter to round it out and bring everything together. That richness was definitely missing which added to a poor experience for me. Service was slower than expected. It took about 50 minutes to receive our main dishes after ordering, which felt long--especially for a reservation-only restaurant and we ordered seafood dishes which doesn't take long to make. Pricing also felt a bit high for what you get and sides are all à la carte, which adds up quickly without a noticeable bump in portion size or overall experience. If the food and service matched the ambiance, this would have been a much stronger overall experience. As it stands, it was decent, but it didn't quite meet my dining expectations given the pricing and reservation-only setup.
