During the roof replacement (July 6, 2025), a portion of the peal and stick was not installed correctly. This caused a leak in the kitchen ceiling. Pictures have been taken three times and was told by Matera Roofing they would fix the problem. Have sent emails to them and was told again the ceiling would be fixed. It is now September 28, and nothing has been done. read more

Hurricane Milton knocked down our Live Oak which then punctured our roof. Anival came out within a few days, and got all the information needed for a quote. He also pointed out that the roof over our Lanai was seriously degraded and provided plenty of pictures. A contract was drawn up and within 10 days his crew showed up at exactly 8:00 AM as promised. These guys worked hard, the roof(s) were expertly repaired, and we immediately passed the county inspection. Anival handled everything, from soup to nuts. You can tell he really takes pride in his business. And here's something that struck me. I've had roof work done by others over the years, and Anival's crew was the cleanest I've every seen. No debris left anywhere. (I found exactly one roofing nail on the ground. That's it). read more

Anival the owner came out personally to look at a problem I was having (actually twice). He diagnosed the problem (no charge), went up on the roof to check out the entire roof, and saved me from hiring an unscrupulous roofer who I believe actually deliberately created the damage to try to get the work. Anival is sending out someone to make a minor repair and pressure wash my roof at extremely reasonable prices. I couldn't speak more highly of the integrity they have displayed since my roof was installed in 2018. They aren't great about the phone. read more

Matera was paid to repair and redo my roof and yet we still have a leak. They are giving us a hard time about coming back out to repair under the warranty. They are wanting a service fee now. In the mean time I have part of my roof with no shingles, it leaks, and we are in hurricane season . read more

After much back and fourth I got a roof installed by Anival and his crew. There was poor communication from the first day. The trim was put on improperly because Anival himself was never on site and the folks former FELONS he hired to do the install were not guided properly. There were cost overages, additional time, and material, not originally quoted. A wooden retaining wall on the roof was built over 3' high using nails NOT SCREWS of pressure treated wood and painted without my consent. The TPO attached to this wall has already began to fail. There is pooling water in multiple parts of my roof because the pitch was not properly calculated by his staff. Anival's come out over 3 times now to "examine" the repairs but nothing ever gets done. I never get a call or a text back and have to start at square one each and every time. Roof isn't leaking.... yet.. but I'm very disappointed over all. There's more, the contractor that they actually hired to do my roof was calling and harassing me personally about them not paying him, and how he just got out of prison and he didn't have much money but needed to be made whole from the materials he personally used on my job.. he was calling me and showing up to my front door. This was not acceptable. Apparently Anival is just the operating partner and the owner when he was here was very critical of me, unprofessional and condescending. These folks can do anything thru Christ except roofing and customer service. AVOID AVOID AVOID! read more

I paid Matera in full almost $7000 to repair a leak and redo my entire roof in late 2016. I have been fighting a warranty issue ever since. Well needless to say the roof still leaks in the same area! Matera come out to band-aid it with caulk, that didn't work. Then they tried fixing flashing. That didn't work. Then they said it is my stucco. So I had a stucco company come out and redo the stucco. Now Matera Roofing is refusing to come out and fix their part unless I pay $250 service fee and by the way the roof still leaks!!! I have pictures and videos. I'm a real estate investor who just moved to the Tampa area. It was a nightmare trying to find a roofing coma only to give me a good price that fit my budget and was also a professional. I gave Anival a call and he gave me the best price (out of about 10 roofers) and just made my life so easy from that point on. Soon after I got the price but before they did the roof, a tree fell on my house and crushed my soffit! Anival came out the next day to look at the damage and he fixed my soffit too. Matera roofing even warranties his roofs which is unheard of especially in Flordia with the high winds and heavy rain!! His guys are clean, quick and know what they are doing and as a contractor or homeowner that's all you really want. I've done work with these guys I the past. They do excellent work. I had them do my own house in Carrollwood and as always another professional job complete. I own a plumbing company in Tampa and I've sent numerous referrals to them always knowing my customers would be taken good care of. These guys a awesome. Started out as a really good relationship. I in fact helped them with a situation. Part of the contract stated that the landscaping would be returned to the condition it was in prior to the installation. However, they left behind a large pile of debris that included two small branches of a tree that I had told them that if it was easier for them, they had my permission to trim them. There is also a smaller pile that included insulation from my attic that came out during the repairs to my roof. They agreed a few times to come and clean it up, scheduled people and notified me and then nothing was ever done. Now they are trying to say they didn't do it!!! They left bare, exposed wood. While I understand this is not part of my contract...customer service would surely have dictated a discussion about painting the exposed wood. Now a couple of month later, their substandard repair work is cracking and separating at the eaves. read more
