This is an industrial city close to Chat-a-new-girl, and occasionally it gets ravaged by tornadoes. My friend here told me that of the 30 or so tornadoes that have hit Cleveland in the last 120 years, ONE QUARTER of them were all on the same day - in 2011. But yeah, we're not f***ing up the planet. Cleveland is an underrated and All American City with a lot of history. I've been here a couple of times just passing through. It's an underrated and beautiful region. The most famous aspect of it is the nearby Cherokee National Forest with its famous rivers, rafting, and national tourist draw. And if there's only 1 key for 2 of us, we'll cherokee. Get it. Get it.

Okay so this place was actually NOT named after Ohio. (Unlike it's neighbor Dayton which totally…read morewas). Instead, you can thank an American Revolution war hero for the name and then high five your fellow history buff who could spend days diving into the history of Cleveland during the Civil War. Fast forward to your visit and here's what you need to know. You MUST drive by Lee University (cannot miss it ...it's just down the road). The architecture is breathtaking. Try to find time to VISIT the museum and later explore nature. The FOREST draws in many visitors. If you stay in town then just explore the historic area ON FOOT. It's easy. Snap pics of Craigmmiles Hall. It reminds me of European buildings sans the fresh coat of paint. GORGEOUS! Chat it up with a local college student. LEARN about why they chose Lee. Let the kiddos roam around the park and for heaven's sake please eat at a LOCAL business. There are so many here! All the dining options really impressed me with high quality menus. Top. Notch. Actually, you can tell that industry is successful here. Cleveland remains steadfast as a small town but the marks of economics and growth are visible through it's achievements in innovation and creativity. It wins the award for 'having it all' as a small town/big city winner. People are friendly and take it easy. And you bet you can learn a thing or two from them about running a business. Someone just say down home college town vibe? Yeah, you could spend time in Cleveland.

I'll give downtown Blue Ridge a five out of five. We rented a cabin about 10 minutes away from…read moredowntown. When we arrived downtown, we saw parking on both sides of the street (if you don't get designated parking in downtown, you'll have to wind up paying to park). There were cute restaurants, boutiques, and shops lining the streets. Everything from a bear store (literally, it had toy bears lol), to cute coffee shops and ice cream shops, to restaurants (they had everything from pizza to perogies). They also had a bunch of t-shirt shops, ladies clothing shops, to toy stores for the kiddos. Downtown, you'll also notice a train (where you can take either a 2 hour or 4 hour ride....in the nicer weather months and during higher peak times like spring break, I'd recommend purchasing your tickets online, as they sell out regularly). The downtown area is walkable, but there is a bit of a hill, so beware for those that may have mobility issues. This is def worth a trip if you're staying the area, get out stretch your legs, and shop locally. Also, be on the lookout for their free range roosters and chickens that you'll hear regularly downtown and you'll be able to figure out why the chicken did cross the road.

It doesn't have a name but all the store and restaurants are all grouped together on the main street....I actually just typed in Blue Ridge Olive Oil Company because I know last time I was here I came specifically to that store and I know there are other places in the area...
