I've never had Japanese barbecue before so when this pulled up on both Yelp and Tripadvisor, I was pretty excited to try it.
It was walking distance from our airbnb, hence it was very close to the Eiffel Tower.
We walked in and were greeted by a Japanese server, who unfortunately could speak only Japanese and French. He was so uncomfortable speaking to us in English that he had to call over his manager at one point to take our order. She also had some of the poorest English that I've heard. But they were both very nice and attended to our every need. We did notice the especially kind attention they offered the all Japanese patrons who were eating at the restaurant.
We ordered two of the meal combos, which come with a cup of miso soup, a side salad, and a bowl of rice. Any additional rice costs extra, but we got one more bowl. We ordered the ribeye and the flank combos (A and C), as well as the grilled vegetables, the scallops, and miso pork belly.
The vegetables were a sad waste. They burned almost instantly on the hot stove and were inedible. The variety was also very limited. The meats were all very good, although you can never have took much meat, and each serving plate was very small.
Our bill came out to be one of our most expensive meals during the entire duration of our trip in Europe. Service was great, other than the unfortunate language barrier. If you decide to come here, bring a fluent Japanese or French speaker... read more
