It offers some of the city's larger shops, hosting the likes of Debenhams, Primark, New Look and Topshop. Half of the mall is really bright and airy as there are windows running down the entire wall. It kinda reminded me of an airport (but nicer, of course). There is parking but we didn't use it. From what I've heard it is pretty expensive. We used Gellatly Street which was £8 for 24 hours. Considering the Overgate charges something similar to this for 5 hours and closes overnight, it looks like we made the right call to go somewhere else. The public toilets in the mall are clean and well serviced so we're all good there. I would definitely recommend coming here instead of the Wellgate - the Wellgate is a horrible, dark dungeon.

It may be because it is a brand new shopping centre and therefore lacks some of what makes the Wellgate so good but whatever it is there is just something missing from the whole experience of shopping here. That said it does have some wonderful shops such as Sports world, Gap and baby Gap, The Gadget shop, Debenhams and the amazing Lush shop which sells all the wild and wacky soaps and lotions and potions you could imagine. You can smell the wondeful scents coming from the Lush store throughout the building and they are rivalled only by the aroma from the Starbucks coffee shop on the same floor. If you are in Dundee then you must visit here as well as the Wellgate, they both have something different to offer.

So the places isn't as nice as Waitrose (which I happen to personally really like) but it gets the job done and it has so much more selection then the one in my town! I just bough so much food there. They have a larger selection of veg, sauces, spirts, foods from around the world and the prices are much cheaper then they are in St. Andrews. Heck there is even a clothing part of the store... I didn't know Tescos sold clothing! AHHH!! They have a good selection of Scottish beers in this store (I brought home 5 new ones to try! VERY EXCITING) though I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any Paulner. They also had the supper large tub of Marmite that they don't sell at the Tescos in St. Andrews and I was in HEAVEN!!! MARMITE HOW I LOVE THEE LET ME COUNT THE WAYS! I even found some soba (one of my favourite things to order when I am at a Japanese restaurant in SF). ***AND EVERYTHING WAS SOO MUCH CHEAPER*** Screw the St. Andrews Tescos, what a freaking conspiracy. It's HUGE and features a great selection of money-saving deals. A student's heaven. It also features a home section, a clothes section and even an electrical section. You'll be able to get almost everything you need. There's a large carpark for parking however, it's not that far should you decide to walk.

With the Overgate centre across town, and Murraygate and the High Street just outside, there seems…read moreno point to the now ancient and decrepit Wellgate centre. I'd imagine that this mall was considered state of the art back in its heyday, but now that Dundee has the modern, glass-fronted Overgate with popular stores such as New Look, Primark, Topshop, Debenhams and JD, everybody goes there. The Wellgate is full of pound shops and fast food restaurants. The layout is a bit weird. You enter on the ground floor then go up some escalators, then walk up another hallway and up another set of escalators. The only really nice feature is the clock in the top floor foyer, which is beautiful. There is also the library which is bright and airy. The toilets in the mall cost 20p but the ones on the top floor of the library are free. Profit should not be made from basic human facilities thank you very much Wellgate! I think I'll stick to the Overgate. The Wellgate is depressing, old and full of chavs whereas the Overgate is a bit more welcoming and upmarket (and also has a Starbucks - very important!)

You do need to be on your own (not great with the children) and have time for a good look but there are stylish, unique(ish!) bargains to be found. The homeware stuff is always lovely and unusual and the shoes are great too. Kids stuff is ok but probably not as much as the adult range though it is getting better. Toy side is good too and I only recently realised how good the opening hours are cause it opens late a lot. One negative is that the queues are always long so it can take a while - maybe they should have more staff on!

Unlike the other two shopping centres I have already reviewed in Dundee this one does not have the…read morebig named stores, it instead has a more stall like feel to it with the shops being open planned and mainly local traders. There are bargains to be had in here and it has a wonderful sweet shop but there are a lot of awful stalls selling real rubbish so you have to browse through a lot of tat to find the good deals. This centre has a nice caffe however and also a hairdresser but the hairdresser is a bit expensive so best missed out. If you are shopping in Dundee you really should take a look around here even though there are better places in the city to shop.

The Forum Centre used to be known as a keiller centre but changed its name maybe 15 years ago…read more Up until the smoking bann it used to be a magnet for junkies and homless to sit on the various seat having a cigerette and buying coffee from the local bakers oven however since the ban has been implemented this appears to have stopped. The forum centre has looked cleaner that it once did. The shops inside it are a bit iffy but there is one or two gems. The key cutting place is better than and cheaper than timpsons and the cafe is nice for a steak slice. Apart from that it is pretty much a missable location.

They sell great wall hangings, canvas's with new york skylines etc. They had a great wall picture of the lovely audrey hepburn in breakfast at tiffany's a while back! There is also a huge party department in this store where you can buy helium ballons in every colour imaginable, dressing up costumes and everything else you could possibly need for any kind of party!
