GARBAGE company! Total scammers. They'll take your money, and then not ship your item for a solid week at least. When you ask them about it they give you a nothing-response stating info freely available on their site about timelines and whether or not they have the product in stock. If it's not in stock, DON'T SELL IT! Then when you ask for a refund, they'll "generate a shipping label" instantly, and when you can see it hasn't left the warehouse on UPS shipping, if you demand a refund, they'll ignore you for two days, then ship the item, then say "nothing can be done once it's left the warehouse" - SCAMMERS. I had the same experience as many other reviewers here. They sent me a different product than I ordered but for some reason their receipt system matches what they sent me, although I am 100% confident that is not what I ordered. I contacted them and they would not admit it was their error. I feel they are actually fraudulently adjusting orders and then denying that is what they did, since their receipt takes you to a link and so there is no way to prove your claims when you dispute with them. I contacted them and they refused to help and told me they weighed the box according to the contents. Another words their way or highway:( The label on the box says 1lb. I have been purchasing Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Lemon Sage Shampoo and Conditioner from them for a few years with no issues. It is one of the few products I can use which was not heavily scented. I recently purchased a large bottle of the conditioner. Word of CAUTION to those allergic to scents. Paul Mitchell changed the product packaging and added so much fragrance I can't use it. Mat & Max's website is deceiving as they show the new packing and a +fragrance picture, but there was no way to know how strong it now smells. Mat & Max will not refund or allow returns, so I am out $50 plus dollars. Will not be ordering from them or the Paul Mitchell brand in the future. read more

If you order online from this store, and UPS delivers to the wrong address this company will not help you. There is no customer service phone number and if you send an email you have to wait up to 3 business days for an email response... unacceptable. This is time wasted for them to file a missing package claim. UPS requires the shipper to initiate a claim for a missing package. I tried to open a claim but the can't do anything till this company actually bothers to respond and resolve the issue. They will be losing me as a customer and this may result in a formal Better Business Bureau complaint and further escalation. Terrible customer service. The true test of a company's customer service level, is what they do when something goes wrong, and how do they fix/resolve the issue. Update: It is now 3 days later and they still did not respond to me - not a word back from their customer service. They still have my money and I have no merchandise. I've had to open a PayPal dispute and have to try and resolve everything on my own. They have lost a customer. Update: It is now 6 days later and they have responded to PayPal regarding my dispute, advising me I will have to pay both the shipping AND restocking fee in order to get any remaining refund from them. They never contacted me as the customer, they never dealt with UPS either, so UPS obtained the package from the incorrect delivery address, and returned to sender as I had to open a UPS claim advising I did not receive the package. UPS's system automatically lists it as a rejected package and it goes back to Mat&Max. They are now telling PayPal that I rejected the package that I never saw or received, and therefore (so they are not out on their costs) I should pay both the shipping AND restocking fee. They have also stated I can only get the remaining refund IF I close the PayPal dispute. They are indicating if I don't agree to their terms and close the dispute, I will get back nothing. Unethical and disgusting behavior from this company. This will be escalating to the Better Business Bureau, the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Protection, and very possibly to Small Claims Court. So today I received my parcel from this company. It was my first purchase ever. Not that it should matter if it a first time customer or not...... I received only one of the items that I purchased. I was denied a return or exchange on MULTIPLE occasions, and instead offered me a pathetic 10% discount code. Disgusting service, will NEVER be spending my money there again when I could get the same products on amazon. The conditioner is perfectly fine the shampoo is clearly expired it smells horrible, is orange instead of pink, and is watery. I notified the company they said it is past the 5 business days after I purchased so they can't help. A lot of things in life are difficult, particle physics and so on, but in my experience, nothing compares to the pain of trying to do your coloration at home. Of course there are box dyes, but if you want to get serious, you need the real tubed stuff. And now the nightmare begins. Where to find the elusive salon exclusive dyes? In salons? Definitely not, they are for "professional use". Shops won't carry them. Heavens forbid you want to be a blonde, you'll need toner! Aaaah! The more you ask, the less you'll find. What you will encounter though are snarky hairdressers and holier-than-thou salespeople. You want to do your haircolour at home?! AH! In rebellion, you can go to Matandmax. The new shop on St-Denis caused some concerns when it opened: it's chock-full of everything you might need for your DIY hair-projects: from dye, to extensions, to professional salon haircare. I was just dazzled, Matrix, Biolage, and on, and on...They even have permanent unnatural dyes: bright reds, navy blue, purple etc.. so you won't have to blow money on Manic Panic anymore, and your pillow sheets will remain intact. For reference, a tube of dye is around 8$. Very reasonable considering the hassle it is to find one. The sales lady used to be a hairdresser and can instruct you on how to get a new do, step by step! I far as I know that's pretty unheard of. I've noticed a little haircutting booth, so I suppose they are ready to fix a color/cut mess, should worse come to worse. read more

This is a review about their mail web business. They are horrible. First ,they don't send you a regular invoice ,but the invoice with only a number on it, and no description, so you can't check if the order is correct. There is no number to customer service,I am assuming because of hundreds of complaints they are getting. They sent me a complexly different shampoo and conditioner set ,I guess the one that they had in stock ,just to make a sale. When I email them, they sent me back a generated automatically letter with a fine print that shampoos and conditioners are not exchangeable. The set they send me was never opened and had some plastic over the cup but the automatic letters were saying no exchange. They have bad reviews on Reddit. People complain that expensive shampoos are counterfeited, or long out of date. They will not, ever let you return the product even if it is their mistake. Stay away from this company .
