Allie is so positive, reassuring, professional, and has the absolute best energy. We knew we wanted someone who we vibed with extremely well seeing as neither my husband nor I are models and aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera. Allie made us feel beyond comfortable and we had such a fun time every time we got together with her that every photo looked natural and perfect in turn! We did our engagement photos with Allie first, and with fires in So Cal we had to re schedule last minute. We're not local so this meant another trip to San Diego, but Allie was overly accommodating and did whatever was needed to make it work for us. She tracked weather patterns and adjusted on the fly to ensure we got the perfect beach photos we were hoping for! We talked and laughed the whole time I had no idea how many photos she actually got, come to find out she got a TON of absolutely perfect looking photos!! We were so beyond thrilled. He is ridiculously patient (like...ridiculously patient). I am not super easy to deal with and I had no idea what I wanted my shoot to be like, but Chris asked me some questions about what I like and don't like, and I felt super comfortable around him which makes a HUGE difference. Chris gives great direction and also loves to work with the personality of the client, which results in natural-looking, beautiful shots. He is also terrifyingly talented. HOW is someone so talented? Seriously, if you haven't yet, go check out his website (http://somethingpleasing.com/), and then contact him and find a reason to get a photoshoot. Chris is so creative and intuitive, and I love that he has a direction he can take the shoot based on the client and the place, but he also allows the client to have the freedom to do what they want to. Special story: I LOVED that Chris noticed I was a little uncomfortable at the beginning of the shoot (because I am not used to having all these pictures taken) and so he stopped us for a second when we got started and we prayed (he knows I love to pray) and he said something like having this shoot be something we can make together (he sounds like such a sweet-talker). I love how he works with the client and it truly makes a huge difference in his shoots. Basically, I refuse to have anyone else shoot photos for me because I have been spoiled by the best. As a photographer I know who to hire for events and I hired Jerry. Now the reason that Jerry photographed my (much) younger sister's Bat Mitzvah is precisely because Jerry is amazing. Notice that I didn't say "amazing photographer" (which he is). I left that statement hanging with just the word "amazing." That's because Jerry also happens to be a wonderful friend, father, and all around human being. I will actually challenge you to find someone nicer. And yes, he happens to be a fantastic photographer and a total gearhead. I think in selecting a photographer for something like a wedding you should look at how talented the photographer is. Absolutely you should like their images. BUT you should also get a sense for how enjoyable that person is to be around and how honest that person is. This is a person you will interact with a lot. Really a lot sometimes. Your photographer is probably the person you spend the most time with on your wedding day (sometime more than your new spouse) and is the vendor that you will probably have the longest relationship with. Really think about that. I wouldn't typically be so hyperbolic, but in this case it's true: Jerry is the nicest guy I know. If you like his images then you have every reason to hire him.
