After coming here for a few years, I'm finally done with Fresh Kutz…read more First thing is the quality of my haircuts had gone down. I don't ask for anything crazy, just a basic whiteboy cut. But the last several times it almost felt rushed and my haircuts did not come out as I explained and showed pictures of. The second thing is twice now I have booked an appointment and when I show up, they are closed. No call, no text, just...no one is there and the doors are locked. Even waited around until 15 minutes past my appointment time and no one showed up. After the 15 minutes, I Yelped for nearby barbershops. Found one minutes away, highly rated, and when I called to ask if they could take a walk in they said yes. And when I got there, seated immediately. Only reason Fresh Kutz gets the extra star is they did take good care of my son which I greatly appreciated. But, so does the new spot and my son likes it there.

I spoke with Germain about my issues and he said to Trust the process and I did. The haircut turned out great and I have a new style to greet the customer's at work. I am very pleased with the service and communication.

No sign saying why, no call or email letting me know not to come in. So I did a Yelp for local barbershops and this place came up. Highly rated. Called and asked if they could take a walk-in they said come on through! Sat me right away. Love the vibe. The guy who cut my hair said the owner cut his hair when he was a kid. Lot of regulars. Lot of joking around and overall great experience. My new barbershop for my son and I.

He even asked if I wanted to keep some "bush" to slick back the hair and I replied "no I want it all gone." 1/10 guess there was a reason when I showed up he was just sitting there with no clients even during the 1.5 hour cut. Should've waited for my actual barber. I even asked to see if he can fix it to be there haircut I asked for and he said it would be like charging for a whole new haircut. How you gonna have no talent to cut hair and ask for the double the price. Smh

Before reading this, I will give props to his beard and line up. If you're coming in for a beard and a fade and short hair on top, then this it is prob fine for you. I've been growing out my hair for almost a year so I could perm it. Hair needs to be long in order for curl to take. My hair is 5-6" but I buz the sizes. Medium skin fade. He asked me what I wanted off the top and I told him not to touch the top. After doing the fade I look and see grips of my locks on the ground and on the apron. I asked him where it came from and why he cut it off. He said "I'm following the line that's where your line was at" If that's where my fade line was, then why was there just inches of hair cut from that same "line" so now, my sides are uneven and shorter than the rest of my hair, now I will have to wait longer to perm it because he short hair won't take curls unless I do tiny ass rods/tight curls. Seems he completely didn't take into consideration of the long hair and was going along with the clippers and didn't care what they touched. Every other place I've been to they either clip my hair in the middle or hold it to the opposite side to prevent from accidentally clipping it. Also after that had already bummed me out, he started shaving my neck dry. It hurt and I will bleed if shaved dry so finally it hurt enough where I asked if he had water or shaving creme. He kinda laughed and smirked like I was annoying him. I still paid for my haircut in the end because I didn't want them to reply to this saying I just wanted a free cut. This totally killed my day and I was going to go get my hair permed this week and now I have to wait months again for the side hairs to grow back to normal. Then he had the nerve to take pictures and give me a business card to ask to spread the word. I will not ever be coming here again. For those of us who put in months of growing hair to have it ruined is not worth me ever coming here again or risking it. My fade and beard came our great but it was not a pleasant experience. If you have long hair on top, I wouldn't recommend going here or at least having that guy cut it. I attached pictures to see how short the cut parts are compared to my other hair.

If you like a barbershop with a bit of grit, culture and local atmosphere, this is the one for you.
