Juan never rushed me and explained things in a way I understood. I appreciate him and his staff. I just got my brake pads done today and next week, he will complete the other items. They QUICKLY reached back out and quoted me over a $1000 for the job, while Elk Grove Chevy quoted me just over $700. I knew this job entailed dropping the pan and working around the exhaust. Something that is really easy to do once on a lift. All in all...a 1.5 hour job, and that's a BIG stretch. I shared this dealer quote with them, and it was basically shared with me that I should go there (not in a rude way). Well, obviously I did. The moral of the story for me and for others should be, DON'T assume ind. auto mechanics will be cheaper than the dealership. I ALWAYS want to support local business, but I will not support local businesses when they can't do a job at a fair price, and I feel like the trend with specialized labor has been leaning way towards a place it never used to be.

I went home decided to check under the hood to check the shifter linkages. Behold it turned out to be battery terminal line was blocking the shifter from going into 2nd. So I basically paid for a diagnostic and the mechanic didn't even check the shifter lines, like bro are we for-real. I felt like they barely checked the issue and I had to pay for the diagnostic. If they found the issue and told me i would've been relieved and wouldn't mind paying the fee. I ended up doing my own diagnostic not good.

I gave him my car overnight to work on a repair and the next day my car battery died. Miguel replaced my battery and made it seem like I'm the one who caused my car battery to die when I did nothing out of the usual. No lights were left on and my car was turned off. NOTHING. He also said he gave me a "better battery that conserves energy when the car is at a stop". WHAT A JOKE. Well, months later the battery died on me in the morning. The AAA mechanic came to my aid and replaced my battery only to tell me the truth saying I was given the "WRONG BATTERY FOR MY CAR." The AAA mechanic specifically said "yeah, the guy used the CHEAPEST, MOST GENERIC battery". The AAA mechanic gave me the proper battery and said the right battery should last me a couple of years, not die this quick like the one Miguel gave me. He showed me the right battery in comparison to Miguel's. He said my car's battery is not supposed to turn off when I am at a stop, which is the exact thing Miguel said made my battery better because it "saved energy". Wow. I relied on this business's professional judgement and got disappointed by the outcome. I feel completely misled. The AAA mechanic said the shop was not upfront about how the overnight repair would most likely give me battery problems and said he's seen a lot of stuff like this and that's why he has the job he has. The mechanic said I got lucky it didn't die on me while on the freeway or in the middle of nowhere because I obviously would be more susceptible to an accident or danger. WOW. What did this business do? 1. Miguel did not mention any possible complications with the original car repair. 2. Made me pay for a more expensive battery when really, according to another mechanic, he gave me "THE CHEAPEST, MOST GENERIC BATTERY". They got overpaid and I'm out at least $1,000 by the end of it all bc I had to pay for the original repair, a new battery by this business, and then another new battery from AAA. I never write bad reviews because I believe God sees all and takes care of it, and ppl get back the energy they give out into the world. This is my first ever bad review bc I am just appalled and angry a guy would do this to someone's primary form of transportation and don't want this to happen to anyone else. I do not trust this business and its employees to care about their customers and give quality work.

Also very reassuring that they'd get to the bottom of it & that it would be him or Armando working on it., something about the way he introduced them before I even got there just made it feel more personal & I felt like I was in good hands. I dropped it off Friday, due to a busy day I let time get away from me and missed a vm from them so I ended up not being able to get my car till Monday, I was prepared for them to be annoyed about it. But they were just as polite and personable as the day I brought it in. Ffwd 2 days, noticed my AC wasn't blowing air at all. They said they couldn't make any promises without looking at it first.(totally understandable.) but that they would do their best to help me out in any way possible. It just ended up being a couple fuses which they replaced at no extra cost. My 19 yo daughter recently got her own car & the idea of her bringing her car to a mechanic made me nervous.
