Communication was a bit challenging, and I was frustrated when I asked for a call before he came only to wake up early one morning to learn he was already up on the roof. But it was so cheap! Unfortunately, it was wasted money. Richard's work did not make any difference in my roof's leak. When I asked him what he would do about it he said he had done more than we had agreed on already, and then criticized his own tactics and tried to imply they were my fault. Needless to say it did not end well between us. I cannot support a contractor who will not stand by their own advice and techniques.

He replied to my call on a Saturday and was able to come by the same day to look at the job. He made sure to get the heat tape installed before the next big storm hit even coming by on a Sunday to finish the electrical hook up and install the wifi connected controller box. He seems very knowledgeable and experienced. He was recommended to me by a friend who said the Scott was "the best contractor I have ever worked with!" I agree and cannot recommend him highly enough.

He sent 3 people, Carlos, Brandon and Martin, and they cleaned out the chimney and replaced the fireproof gasket rope around the doors. Carlos was the lead tech and had all the fancy certifications. The wood must be burning cleaner, and they showed me some features I had no idea existed - there is a catalytic converter in the fireplace when I shut the doors. I couldn't get the blower fan working the next day, and Martin came back out and took a look, but it just needed more heat to flip the switch. I'd use these guys again in a heart beat.

They are known for the "bait and switch" maneuver as seen in other reviews. When they are caught in a lie they make false accusations and assumptions about you. When they came to clean windows they had to be confronted about foot prints on ledges that needed to be cleaned up. Reminded them of windows not to miss and they missed them. Crew bent a window screen when putting back (I witnessed it), confronted crew foreman (owner) about it before them leaving and he said he would come back and fix. Never heard back for several weeks so called office and she said there had been other complaints about bent screens from customers and she would have owner get in touch.
