I've decided to remain with Cota & Cota at this time. Up until a few weeks ago my experience - both with the office and technicians - had been good, so I'm willing to give them another shot. First review: After 10 years of having Cota & Cota as my oil/propane provider, I cancelled my account with them and will be taking my business elsewhere. I had a maddeningly, frustrating call with one of their service desk staff (who I will not publicly name) who interrupted, spoke over me, and mansplained. When I called this gentleman out for his behavior, he 'let' me speak. When I finished speaking, he then said "Can I talk now?" To the leadership of Cota, I strongly urge you to have your staff complete customer service training. Or maybe remind them on the do's/don'ts of speaking with customers. Here, I'll help: 1. The unit has needed one part or another every single year.. Aside from and in spite of annual upkeep, he has cost me additional money every single year. Now I have learned that the unit was vented improperly and had a significant effect on the fresh air circulation. Which in turn has cause soot build up on the unit. More money. I have tried numerous times to get in touch with John over the past year via email or voicemail. Unsuccessful in both areas. It is both sad and frustrating to put your trust in someone who claims to be a professional. Find someone else.

I was having all sorts of trouble getting anyone to call me back and schedule a date to come even look at it...until I called John. I called at 5pm in the evening, expecting to get a call back later that week. He called me at 6:30pm, and went to see the job within 2 days. The quote was very fair, and significantly below the one other person I had been able to get to look at the job. A week and a half later, we had a new furnace and new hot water heater, 2 days ahead of schedule. John communicated with me daily, let me know of anything unexpected, and was on time and on budget. Managing repairs from afar is always a challenge, but John made it easy with great communication, including pictures. He even checked in with me 2 weeks later to make sure everything was working correctly. I wouldn't hesitate to call John again. Truly a professional.
