We became friendly and I know that her biggest passion in life is Taekwondo (OK...maybe a close second to her family! She does love them!). Master Amy has trained under multiple TKD Grandmasters and brings a refreshing perspective to the art: a perfect combination of traditional martial arts, fitness and sports acumen. Master Amy cares deeply about every one of her students and truly gets joy out of watching their growth and success. When covid shut everything down in March, I started training with her and her students online. She shifted gears and created asynchronous content for her students to access - but, more importantly, kept the flow of live classes going using zoom. Online-only classes continued until some of the restrictions started to lift. She is currently running hybrid classes so that she can address the needs of all. There are several students that are strictly online since they live in different parts of the US (even different time zones!). Since we're still at the height of the pandemic, all in-person participants require masks, temperature checks, hand sanitizer and substantial social distancing - so (in-person) class sizes are currently limited. Master Amy has taken all precautions - and then some - to ensure everyone's safety. She's been incredibly creative on how to teach nuanced techniques from a distance and will try anything to help bring her students along. If you're looking for a great way to get fit, have fun and learn an amazing, traditional martial art - check out Mooshim.

The space is bright, airy and clean with plenty of space for the kids to store their personal belongings during class. There is a seating area with tables so parents can watch and relax, or bring a laptop (free wifi!). The instructors, Amy and Tessin, pay attention to each individual kid, making sure they use proper form and that they understand why it's done that way. It was really cool to see how things just clicked with my kids when the instructors took the time to explain things. My kids are always so proud of their achievements at the end of class, and they feel confident that they will know how to protect themselves from the "bad guys" (a very big concern for all 6 year olds!) But this place isn't just for kids! There are tae kwon do classes for adults, and conditioning classes as well. The drop in rate for the conditioning class is very reasonable for anyone who can't commit to a full schedule. And the class was actually fun! It's non-stop the whole time, but there is such variation in the drills and exercises that it never felt boring. I felt like I was being pushed to do my best, but it was never intimidating. I highly recommend the class to anyone who wants a great workout but needs a little support or a break from the monotony of the gym.

More jujitsu classes to include a expert level. Cardio kickboxing and an amazing striking program. My 8 daughter trains kids jujitsu there and loves it. It's the only sport that she has stayed with and loves going to class. The instructors are amazing and I have no idea how they get my kid to listen so well. Proud to say my wife is a member of the Main Chicks Jujitsu Team, the largest women's jujitsu team in the Northeast. Over 30 strong and still growing. Just attended an amazing seminar there by Ryan Hall, this season's winner of The Ultimate Fighter. I'm always seeing the areas top jujitsu black belts and professional MMA fighters coming in to train with Andy and Mike Main. The group of people that I have the privilege of training with are the best I could ask for, we all want to see each other improve. Andy, Mike, and all the instructors there have proven to me time and time again that truly care about my development as a martial artist. I feel completely comfortable knowing that I can walk up to any person there to help me. Doesn't matter if I want to practice, drill, or just have a knowledge question. The people that have been training longer will alway take the time to answer my questions or help me find the answer if they are unsure. I started training here just for fun. It has definitely been fun and so so much more. It has become something that my wife, daughter, and I have in common and can bond over. A great stress reliever and confidence booster. The people at pure have become our friends and going there is so much more then just training.

They have also grown an amazing kids and adults isshinryu karate program that started in 2019, and their women's Jiu Jitsu team has grown exponentially as well - making it the biggest woman led, women's only Jiu Jitsu programs in New Jersey. It has turned into one of the most sought after places to train, with multiple members who travel more than 45 minutes to train there. I can't express into words how welcoming the community is to people of all walks of life, all experience levels - whether you are coming alone or with your entire family. I highly recommend checking them out!

He continually has a smile on his face and is amazingly patient with all his students. Master Acevedo instills life skills such as optimism, perseverance, and strong character building. He has an incredible way of pushing each student without discouraging them - giving them a sense of determination and excitement to achieve their goals. I would give Cho's Legacy 10 stars if possible!!

When my daughter (6 at the time) , went to a TKD birthday party she wanted to study herself. The first place I thought about was Cho's Legacy. I took Stella to a personal class/meeting with Master Acevedo and she loved it. I loved being back in the Do Jong again and was struck not only by how much she love it, but by the instant rapport between Master Akil and Stella. Not every martial artist can be a teacher, and not all of those teachers can connect with and teach to 6 year old kids the way he does. After the hour meeting, Stella asked if she could sign up and I said of course. She then told me that she could see how much fun I had being there with her and asked me to sign up with her. I did not realize until I went there just how much I missed studying TKD and I agreed. We've now spent the last 11 months studying together, practicing at home, and bonding over a shared dedication and love of the sport. Studying here has given her such confidence and accomplishment. At her school talent show this fall, she worked on a routine with Master Akil and there she was, a 7 year old all by herself on stage running through a routine and bringing the crowd to their feet with a thundering board breaking finish. We've committed to obtaining our black belts together and I can't wait to continue our training together. Challenging and fun for children and adults alike. A wonderful and friendly atmosphere and school community. Thank you Master Acevedo!
