Took my wedding ring in the Maurice because I broke a prong. He told me my band was going to break soon. He repaired my ring with a new setting and fixed my band. I am very sentimental and have a "X" marked inside the band so I know which was my wedding band before they were all put together. When he replaced my band he cut it below the "X" and I was so happy. I don't recommend this business. They weren't very professional. Took in 3 of my husbands wedding bands (1 from Wedding, 20th & 40th) because I lost him and wanted a ring made from his bands to wear. The 3 gold rings with diamonds, I was told would cover the cost to create one for me using gold and diamonds of his ( cover his labor to do it), plus have gold left over they'd buy. Told 2 weeks, heard nothing from them. Third week trying to call them and catch them open, no luck. 2 more weeks, finally get them to answer phone and told they had family emergency give them another week. Nothing again when time passes. Finally almost 2 months told it's finally ready after I call them. When I go to pick it up, it's nice and fits but get the run around on payment. There's gold left over and they're supposed to buy off me,instead I can't have my ring until I pay $300.00 and they kept leftover gold without paying me for it.Try talking to them and just get the run around. Nothing I said changed anything. I had to pay or they'd keep my ring made from my dead husband's bands ( so very upset). So here it's a month later and a diamond falls out of my ring. Well, I totally don't trust them, so take it to Roger's Jewelers and they show me all the diamonds are about to fall out. I'm beyond upset and angry that they're not good people and took advantage of me. Now I have to pay Roger's to mount diamonds correctly. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of a widow. Stay far away from this business. They're not honest good people!! On August 9, 2019 I made the unfortunate decision to visit, what was at that time, the new high end jewelry store to move into the storefront vacated by Chesters Loan & Pawn, who had repaired and sold jewelry for 25 yrs. It was an uneventful day about to take a turn for the worse. In need of a simple ring resizing, I buzzed the security door asking for entry. It was remote entry, meaning an employee must buzz the door open for the customer to enter. As I could see in the window, there were two women hanging a chandelier and a man making jewelry. I'm not sure who remotely opened the door, but the door opened and I was allowed entry. Taking approximately three steps into the store, I was attacked by a large Husky/German Shepherd type breed of guard dog. Never growled or barked, jumped up, bit my forearm leaving a 4 inch gash! Yet somehow I was able to push the dog off me. The dog was coming at me for a second time, frantic I managed to sream for help as no one seemed aware I was attacked. The older of the two women who I later learned was the younger woman's mother, came to my aid, grabbing the large aggressive dog, pulling it away from me. I would've thought that the dogs owner would've responded but I was later told it was the daughter who owned the dog, and under questioning admitted I should never have been let in the store until the dog was secured in the back away from customers. Since this all happened I've come to the conclusion that that's not truth at all, otherwise she would've taken control of her dog and the situation, at least try to apologize to me, maybe even attempt to calm and soothe me. The "supposed" dog owner never so much as said a word to me or scold the dog. She was simply there while the mother tended my wounds and mentioned the dog was currently in training. Though the couple did tend my wound, apologize, and not charge me for resizing the ring, you would think a monetary compensation of some sort would be in order, instead of the steadfast refusal to accept any of the responsibilities for the horror and injury their dog instilled upon me and still resides inside my soul to this very day. These are not caring nor compassionate people, let alone truthful (no one can remember who allowed my entry? What? ) as if that should matter at all? No they were so ignorant of their responsibilities as store owners allowing a dog with dangerous propensities in their store, that the very next morning "Faust" was out and about, causing such a commotion, animal control asked that they put the dog in back in order to conduct his job. They showed that what was most important to them was the security of their inventory, over and above the safety of their customers. A word of advice: USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN VISITING THESE PREMISES! You are truly using your own devices. I would not wish such a harrowing and completely terrifying experience on my worst enemy! read more

Please take note that I am a Yelp Elite and I care about the reviews I publish and believe in the system! I took two gold rings in to be worked on by Maruice. One was a cocktail ring that needed two stones replaced and cleaning. The other was a very precious family heirloom piece that I simply needed resizing. Maurice put the stones in crooked on the one ring, and the precious family piece to be resized he messed up the setting and scratched the gold band. It is truly heart breaking. I took the one with the stones back in and asked him to fix it and he gave me a bunch of excuses but admitted that he did not notice he put it in crooked and he re-set it. I also asked his wife Pindy to reclean it because it wasn't clean and when I got it back it was STILL dirty yet again! As for the heirloom piece I am so bothered by it, but don't want to take it back to him because I do not want him to touch it, or any other piece of jewelry I have EVER again! I just don't understand how someone who calls himself a Master Jeweler can do such sloppy work. And I don't understand how there are good reviews for this guy on Yelp... which is the reason I went to him in the first place. Why did he decide I wasn't worth quality service for my jewelry???? I researched jewelry places for my ring to be sized. Since I'm not familiar with the area, I turned to Yelp. I figured it wouldn't make a difference where I went, so I kept Maurice's Master Jewelers in mind. I first visited Sears. I talked with the man over there, and he said it would take about a week to have my ring sized. He told me the jeweler wouldn't be in the shop until later. I didn't like that answer too much, so I decided to go to the Antique Trove, where Master Jewelers is located. I talked with Maurice and he seemed very nice. He told me that it would take about a week for him to size the ring, but what made me feel comfortable about choosing him was that he explained why he gave me a week time period. He said that he didn't want to rush the work, and that he wanted to allow himself enough time rather than taking a few minutes to just size it. He wrote out the information, and handed me my ticket. He then told me about how he has been a jeweler for over 50 years (I think. I have a terrible memory. But it was an impressive work history), and how his daughters are very artistic and creative, as well. He also shared with me how a lady had pendants made by using the wax seal stamp initials. Such a creative idea, and he had a sample of a piece made from silver. He also told me that he would clean up/polish the matching ring I had, since it had faded from regular wear. I returned a week later, and the ring was the perfect size. One of the stones had fallen out due to sizing it down, so Maurice said it would take about 30-45 minutes, to re-set the stone and polish both rings. I browsed the Antique Trove while I waited. Wow, there are A LOT of cool stuff in that building!!! You would need a day just to see almost everything. Within 30 minutes, Maurice had my rings ready. He is such a nice man, and very good at what he does. If I ever need a custom piece of jewelry made, or any other jewelry needs, I definitely know where to go. ;o) read more

I am on my 3rd wedding set, technically the wedding band has always been the same. The first setting we purchased at whitehall when they were going out of business. One of the diamonds fell out before we ever got home from the store and all sales were final, so I started looking into our warranty and basically they were going to take my ring back and send me the money we spent on it, um noway jose! So I took matters into my own hands. I found Maurice, he replaced the diamonds and informed me that it was going to continue to happen because of the poor workmanship of the ring, so we ultimately put it in a solitaire setting and I wore it that way for about a year, then I purchased a setting from ebay. Maurice had it set in just a few hours and I was happy again, then my ring met the fate of the meat case at winco. I reached in and a metal bar snagged my ring and bent it so badly there was no repairing it. I went without it for a month or so and then my husband and I decided to go talk to Maurice. I went in and took all of my old settings, diamonds and all, sold Maurice the gold and we decided on a setting he would make that saved the halo and diamond from my previous ring, so I didn't sacrifice the antique style of the ring. I picked it up today and I'm speechless. Its more beautiful than ever. I will upload a picture once I figure out how! I upgraded the diamond in my wedding ring and had the work done by another jeweler in Rocklin who did a really terrible job - the diamond was set crooked and lopsided and it looked bad. I took it back to that jeweler for correction and they mangled it even worse - it was really bad and the diamond almost came out. Maurice and Pindi took so much time to talk to me about what I wanted and what was possible to make this repair (they actually had to replace the setting altogether.) They called me in before it was finished just to make sure I was completely happy with the work (I was!) and now I have the ring of my dreams. The workmanship is flawless, it was done very timely (less than a week) and the price was very reasonable.
