I went to Grand Rapids Civic Theatre for the showing of Legally Blonde The Musical…read more We scored a great deal for $5 seats up in the nose bleed section and had fun dressing up in pink in prep for the show. The talent was excellent and it was such a fun story to song. I never watched the movie, so the ending was a surprise for me. I love supporting the arts! It's nice to know they have a myriad of options and prices for every budget. Can't wait to come back for the next show.

We went on a Monday and the price for all movies was only 5.00, you will receive that same low price on Tuesdays too. Concessions right now seem cheaper as well. You still get refills, but they will give you a new container for each refill. The seats in our theatre were the reclining seats.....not sure if they recline in each theatre. While comfortable, the reclining seats might very well put you in a position to fall asleep if the movie is boring. Attached to each seat is a side tray where you can place your snacks. The workers were all wearing masks, and they were wearing them properly. We felt safe here and will return.

I was really surprised at how nice and updated this location is! Walking in to the main lobby area I noticed the clean carpet and updated bar/concessions area. Everything seemed really clean and even though it was a bit of a slow time, it looks like the facility has been updated recently. The employees were friendly and efficient, and even offered me my complimentary real butter because I'm a Platinum level rewards member. (They rarely ask me if I want it at the other locations.) The theatre we were in was very small, only a handful of rows, but the seats looked brand new, especially compared to the super worn out seats at Studio Park. The sound and picture were great. I did some research and found out this location was updated in April 2024! There's plenty of parking in their lot and it's pretty easily accessible from the highway. Glad we got to visit the new and improved Celebration South!

I consider myself super lucky to have Broadway Grand Rapids as an option for the arts. My parents…read moretook me to lots of musicals as a kid and I grew up playing in the pit orchestras of several musicals throughout middle school and high school. My love for theatre runs deep, so I'm happy to be able to support the arts and be entertained through a season membership to Broadway GR. The caliber of shows is incredible and I've seen so many favorites right in our city including Lion King, Hamilton, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, Hadestown, Six, and Come From Away, just to name a few. Renewing season tickets is generally very easy and the local customer service department is super helpful. I've had to exchange some tickets for different dates and it's a simple process through the website or the Ticketmaster app. As a season ticket holder, you get some perks including first access to additional shows (like Hamilton) that may not be included in the season ticket package, discounts and deals at local restaurants for the night of your show, and discounted parking in a nearby parking garage. Currently as of 2023, only small clutches will be permitted at performances (no larger than 12" x 9" x 3"). Masks are optional and there is no covid vaccine or negative test requirement. Once inside, you can purchase beverages and small snacks and now beverages can be brought into the auditorium. The lines for the concessions and bars can be quite long. I also wish they offered a water dispenser, as I tend to get really thirsty during the performances! Otherwise your options are a pricey bottle of water or the communal drinking fountain. The restroom situation is much improved as they've added more women's restrooms so the lines move a little quicker. I haven't noticed the theatre being quite a warm lately, which is great for me but consider bringing layers in case of fluctuating temperatures. I get excited every year when the lineup is announced and hope to continue to support the arts for many years to come.

So to be able to see some of my favorite musicals in my own hometown is incredible! We just attended the opening night for Hamilton which I have wanted to see for years. It was amazing. So much talent! We've previously seen The Lion King, Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera. Every time is a great experience DeVos place is also a great venue. They run things very smoothly and there really isn't a bad seat. Purchasing tickets is fairly easy through Ticketmaster. Cost varies depending on the show. Currently you do have to show proof of COVID vaccination or a recent negative test to get in. They are also requiring masks while in the venue.

The opening sequences and dialogue was at 85db. We tried to put up with it for a bit but after an action sequence started to reach 100db I went to talk to the staff. They said they would not reduce the volume and that was the point of the Ultra experience. I asked for earplugs and was told to use toilet paper. Our cashier was super nice. Offered to let us see a different non ultra experience and to comp us appetizers and meals. In the end our ringing ears forced us to ask for a refund. The theater is nice and clean and clearly very new. The service is mixed with helpful and less helpful employees. The sound issue is a health and safety issue and should be investigated. Hearing protection should be provided for employees and theater goers to the ultra experience.

The GRS is currently shut down due to COVID-19 but they have been providing videos of symphony members performing in their "From Our Home to Yours" video series which can be found on their Facebook page and YouTube channel. These performances are so beautiful and I love that we can still enjoy the music that they provide, even if we're all staying in our homes. Throughout a regular season, the GRS has so many fun performances for everyone, even if you're not a classical music fan. I personally love classical music, but their movie score play-along events are really amazing. I love the Home Alone performance they do every year. Picnic Pops is also a great concert series that takes place at Cannonsburg each summer. The arts community needs our support and if you have the means to do so, you can donate money to this treasure of a nonprofit.

The words were on the screen and we sang lod and proud some Christmas carols. When I lived in San Diego, I went to see the Symphony at least every two months, so I was excited to see my new symphony play. Also they allowed us to buy concessions but they did refund our money back. My son been waiting for this movie to come out bought a Spider-Man outfit and literally rejected us to walk into the theater. Also, the attitude of some of the staff in there someone's very nice but some of them like they hate being there and have attitude also, profiled me saying that he told me something before remind you I've been going to the theater for since it opened not once have I ever seen guy don't know who he was trying to compare me to I guess all my people look the same i'm not trying to make it a big deal Just wanted to go watch a movie with my family. just figured I'd let some body know to take your baby in to go see Spider-Man movie or something just be warned they will reject you.
