Prices were crazy around town ($40-$45), but Village Goldsmith was much more reasonable at $25 for my silver rings (Yes! He even resizes silver!) & $30 for my white gold rings. The Goldsmith was very friendly & extremely efficient, & his work was impeccable. I feel like I have brand new rings! I will tell all my friends to go to him first, if they ever need any work done on their jewelry. Unfortunately, his shop is tucked away in the Village Mall & not easy to spot. Look for the huge sign in the corner for Blarney Stone Pub & Restaurant, directly below it you will see the word Goldsmith. The ring that I ended up getting was unique but incredible and perfect for me. It has a rectangular Emerald in the middle, and two small opals on either side of it, on a rose gold band. This ring is perfect for me and suits me perfectly. Because of the cost of a wedding, after the wedding was when it was my turn to find a ring for my husband. I found the perfect ring for him which is also rose gold, and simple, but unique. His has a tree bark- like design on it and he loves it. We love that our rings represent both of us so well, and compliment each other in similarity and differences. When I was consulting with Marlow, he helped me with all of my questions and concerns and helped me fine tune my decisions. One of my concerns was the the width of the band was not what I was hoping but the size I wanted was not available online, and Marlow told me that it would be available to customize in that way, or any way I was wanting. Our rings have held up well, and are so ideal for us both. The customer service and process was made easy and uncomplicated. I even had a bit of a time crunch for my ring that I bought, but I was assured that it would be in on time, and the ring was even delivered to my house so that I would not have to worry about trying to find the time to pick it up. We have had our ring for just over two years. In that time, my wife has had possession of the ring for about 4 months. The other year and a half plus, the ring has been in service having missing diamonds replaced. In two years, diamonds have fallen out of the ring AT LEAST 10 TIMES. Fortunately, I purchased the lifetime Jewellery Care Plan, so the repairs have been free, but that hasn't stopped them from trying to charge us EVERY time. It's been a battle on, literally, every single occasion. We have tried to have the ring remade (they won't do it), we have tried to negotiate a fair exchange (they won't do it), and finally, we are at the point where we are just trying to get our money back (but they don't want to do it). So, if you're a fan of buying rings that live in the service shop and make the odd appearance on your or your wife's finger, then this is the place for you! If you're into having people tell you they'll call you back with answers, never to hear from them again, you are in for a serious treat! If you love making a large purchase from a business, only to be forgotten and neglected once they have your money, look no further; THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I have had my wedding band for 13 years and the weld had cracked and split. I contacted the store…read moreand they told me it was normal wear and tear and that they would not do anything about it. When I enquired about the artist that made the ring they sold me they said he was no longer around and that, they would gladly sell me a new ring to replace the one that split. After a quick google search of my own I found the designer, and contacted him myself. He informed me that he had a lifetime warranty on his work and would gladly repair or replace the ring if needed. The fact that they wouldn't even approach him, or assist me in contacting him goes to show the level of follow up attention they give to their past clients.
