Stopped in today for a chair massage. Had a lot of tension in my neck, shoulders and back. She did…read morea great job, best that I've had. Just the right amount of pressure and consistent strength throughout the massage. Great prices! 20 minutes for $20! At this price I can afford to go often, which is much needed. It's inside Courtland Center Mall by JC Penny. Open entry just like the other stores. Nearby stores are Home Depot, Lowe's, Dunham's, Staples and Discount Tire. So while the tire repair was going to be over an hour, I walked next door and got a massage.

I've been here twice. The first time, I'd give it a 2- or 3-star rating as the price is low and…read morethey take walk-ins, but the massage wasn't great. However, the second time I went, it was so bad that I won't come back. The masseuse was extremely heavy handed. She never asked me if the pressure was okay. I must have said "TOO HARD" at least 10 or 15 times throughout the massage. She wouldn't respond verbally, and I couldn't quite tell if she even let up on the pressure at all. She seemed to have little to no understanding of anatomy, as she kept massaging hard over BONES instead of muscles. When she massaged my behind, she did it so hard that it hurt a lot. I told her it was too hard, and she muttered something about sciatica. Well, I was a nurse earlier in my life, and I know what sciatica is, and I don't have it; she was simply massaging way too hard. There were other things, like on one hand she'd massage down each finger and pull it, and the other hand she omitted the fingers entirely. This isn't a big deal, but as someone who has had countless massages in my lifetime, I notice it. A good massage is usually consistent in what's done to each side of the body. I had asked her to massage my face, and when she did, she did it with completely dry hands. Imagine running your hands over your face, pulling HARD from chin to eye without any lubricant. Yeah, it was stretching my skin as well as burning--very unpleasant. I asked for lotion. She used some but muttered something about "too slippery." Yes, well, I also don't want my face burning and to lose elasticity because you've stretched the mess out of it and rubbed it without any lubricant at all. Of note, paying with a credit card, even if you've spent over $75, will cost you a 3% fee, so bring cash if you don't want that. The only points I'll give her is that when I arrived, I didn't realize the store is closing earlier than usual. She still took me without telling me, which likely meant that she stayed past closing. I went there feeling slightly tight muscles, and I left in pain. Today, the day after, I am taking pain medicine and muscle relaxers because of what she did. So if paying for a massage that will leave you in pain is your thing, this is your place. Otherwise, go to an actual person who has had *schooling* for massage THERAPY, and then strip down and get a legitimate massage that makes you feel better, not worse.
