The lady who used to cut my hair suddenly quit and I was left out in the cold. I turned to Yelp and found excellent reviews for Salon a Go-Go so I made an appointment and have been a client since then! Melissa cuts my hair and always does an amazing job at a reasonable price. I am sure I drive her crazy with my demands but she is never fazed. I work downtown and constantly asked where I get my haircut... people are disappointed when I tell them it is out in the burbs. I love Melissa so much that I even started bringing my daughter to her for her hair. Melissa has waxed, cut and dyed us and always does a fantastic job. I tried to trim my daughter's hair with some clippers and she vehemently said only Melissa can touch her hair. Salon is very well kept and clean. Val is wonderful as well as she keeps busy and is always cleaning or doing something. Part of me didn't want to post this review as I didn't want my secret to get out but Melissa deserves to have oodles and oodles of clients!

I asked whether tipping was mandatory, and he repeatedly pointed to a sign on the wall, but nowhere did it state that tips were required. The situation became very uncomfortable when he continued pressuring me about tipping, got close to me, and compared it to tipping at a restaurant. When I still questioned why a tip was being demanded, he told me, "You know what, just leave. Don't come back here." I understand and respect that tips are appreciated, but customers should never be harassed or pressured into tipping. Based on this experience, I did not feel welcomed or respected as a customer.
