Booked a foot massage & it was wonderful!!!! Very attentive, friendly & comfortable. Highly recommend!

Things seemed to be off to a decent start when we called to find out if there was availability for a massage. The woman that answered the phone and booked the appointment was very helpful and friendly and she told us a 90 minute massage would cost $130. We booked the massage asking for just a relaxing Swedish massage. Why I would not go back: 1). Your face is literally laying on a paper towel as you get the massage. 2). They didn't close the door to the massage room so all you hear is noise the entire time. 3) Asked for a relaxing Swedish massage, and that techniques being used were not relaxing at all and more Thai like... elbow, weird movements, pulling, etc. Was not relaxing. 4). Turns out they only give you the $130 price if you pay cash which was a surprise... If you pay cash, they won't charge you tax. If you use a credit card, you pay a convenience fee plus tax and it ends up being ~$145. Would have been nice to have known in advance. Everyone was really nice, just wasn't what we were looking for. There were other people in there raving about the massage they got so maybe we just got a bad one? read more

If you are like me, and need to kill time between appointments at Mayo, go get a massage at Relax and Wellness Massage. I stumbled across this place last year while getting cancer treatment here at Mayo. I walked in and asked for A Chinese foot massage. Chinese Massage is unlike western massage. They do a lot of kneading and apply intense pressure to acupressure points. If you've never had a massage like this it can seem uncomfortable and almost painful at first, but as the massage progresses and your muscles relax an intense euphoria sweeps over you. I call it "hurts so good"! Haha. Anyhow, I've been back many times and always leave feeling great. They do also provide normal, relaxing western style massage as well. This place is a bit hard to find. From Mayo subway level just past Caribou, before Brueggers, go up both sets of escalators to skyway level. Take skyway towards galleria shopping. When you cross over x street you'll walk through a rundown skyway. Take your very first right after Newts express (see pic) and follow the signs for Healing Massage. read more

Same day appointment. I'm not able to lie down, but she had a massage chair. Firm pressure and she managed to get some of the knots out.

Don't overlook this gem. I donated a kidney a week ago. My back and shoulders were killing me from my natural reaction to bend over and protect my belly. We called Jade, asked if she might be willing to try and see what we could do in a chair and she told us to come in. She was very kind, careful, and communicative to find a set up that felt good and safe, and then gave me the most amazing back massage-- relieving so much of the tightness I was feeling. It was wonderful! I had tried all the other fancy medical places to see if I could get in and ended up here as a wild shot to see if I could get some relief. It was a total godsend. I'll be back to see Jade when I'm in town for my next appointments for sure! read more

BEST MASSAGE EVER! I received a 60 minute full body massage and it was AMAZING! It's very hard to find massages that are hands on and this was an amazing relaxing massage with a very reasonable price. When I phoned to make the appt, I specifically said that I have Rhuematoid Arthritis and could not have deep massage. No elbows, no forearms used and asked if that could be accommodated. She said yes. The day of the appt, my friend and I arrived and I reiterated my needs. No blanket was given to me to cover up. My friend was given one, but when the lady entered, she asked, "Are you shy?" and proceeded to pull the blanket off of her. My person rubbed my back (much like a 5 year old would) then proceeded to climb on the table and start to dig her elbow into back. I said No! She asked if I wanted it harder and again I said no, please be gentle, I want to relax. That seemed to throw her off (after the massage, I found out she doesn't speak English, so she probably didn't understand a word I said. Which was unfair to both of us) and she spent 45 mins rubbing my back. When I went to flip over, I kept asking for a sheet to cover up and she wouldn't give me one. Then as I am flipping over, I see a window, that is open to the lobby and people are walking by. My friends person kept leaving or answering the phone during her massage. She would leave the door open! Remember, we weren't covered with a blanket! My person left as well without a word, and left the door open. These people cannot possibly be trained, certified, or licensed. They don't care for you as a person, nor do they have an ounce of professionalism or appreciation for their customers dignity. Both people pulled our underwear down half way down our butts during the massage. My friend tried to stop the massage, but her person kept saying no, you have more time. When time was up I was in so much pain, I could barely get off the table. Instead of knocking on the door, the lady was peaking in the window, but I had closed the blinds. Who does that? I also could barely walk, but they offered water and said that would help. I actually think it was the handful of Ibuprofen and pain patches that actually helped. It was an awful experience for both of us. I gave it 1 star because I had to so my review would post. read more

The whole thing was awkward. I was especially annoyed that there was a window from the lobby that could see into the room. People literally sitting right outside of room as I was getting off the table. There was no soothing music, just sighs from the massage giver. I don't use the word therapist bc he truly had no grasp on human musculature. He did not ask what I wanted or let me know what was happening before stretches. At one point left the room without saying anything. He came back with hot stones but when he left I was like wtf? Will not return or recommend. read more
