Really bad experience and I will NEVER enter their salon ever again!!! Disappointing in every which…read moreway!!!
I went to their branch in Bordeaux a few days ago. Paid 70 EUROS for the so-called "traditional Chinese hot oil tui na". Excuse me????? I've been going to different traditional Chinese massage centres and even the worst experience I had before La Maison du Tui Na, was much much better! I felt like I wasted 70 EUROS and 1 hour of my life!!
Why is it the worst experience I have had so far :
- First, I made an appointment at 18:00. The lady on the phone told me that I will start my session on time and asked me to be there 10 minutes earlier. So I arrived at 15:45. I was told to wait outside on the salon. A guy came to me, just asked me where I had the problem. I explained to him that I had some back pain. I could see clearly that the client before me was still inside, as the masseuse came out, and the guy quickly told her my back pain problem. So finally, at 18:10, I was brought to the room and told to get undressed and lie on my belly. So that was what I did. She finally came in the room at 18:15.
- Second, when she came in, she didn't greet me normally with a smile or anything. The worse part is, she left the door open ( I didn't notice it until the end of the session). I thought they did NOT CARE AT ALL THE PRIVACY OF THEIR CLIENTS!!!
- Third, the way the masseuse worked on my muscles was clearly FAR FROM PROFESSIONAL!!!! She was just randomly knobbing my back and her fingernails were so long that they cut my skin a bit. I am sorry but I think I have very good idea what Tui Na should be about and that was nothing more than a random rub. I could do so much better on my own.
- Fourth, during the session, she only asked me TWO questions! Ok, that's fine. But I thought it was common courtesy to ask the clients whether she felt ok or not.
- Fifth, when she pour down the hot oil on my skin, she f"cking dropped a few hot oil on my skin. I immediately screamed and said " hey, you just burnt my skin!". Guess what? Not only did the masseuse not say a word of sorry, she further defended herself and said" Oh, it's normal it's hot, but no worry, it doesn't burn". But hell yeah, it DID burn my skin as normally she should pour the hot oil on her palm before rubbing into my skin. No, she just pour it onto my skin without testing the temperature.
- Sixth, things got awkward here as right after I told her to be careful with the hot oil, she just rushed out the door, and said to the guy working at the reception desk " She complained about the oil being too hot, she said she got burnt". Jeesus, how disrepectful! I could hear the conversation from the room! She didn't excuse herself before she left, nor did she after she came in. She just continued the session like NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!
- Lastly, I thought I couldn't handle it anymore. But I didn't want to cause any trouble. So despite the fact I was feeling really annoyed and uncomfortable with all that, finally I did not feel relaxed at all, I thought I would just endure this horrible thing until the end of the session. So, it ended, and guess what she did when the session was over. SHE TAPPED MY SHOULDER!!! SHE FUCKING TAPPED MY SHOULDER!!!! Like a mom would do when she tried to wake her kid up. I was almost getting mad. But I was a polite and kind human being. So I didn't say a word.
There are so many other small details which I can go on and on about, like they stopped playing the music in the middle of the session, and the clock was ticking so hard that you could hear it ticking all the time, and the way the masseuse was walking around beating hardly onto the wooden floor with her heavy boots, it was just, full of noises in the surroundings that I got even MORE STRESSED after the session....
It's horrible, really horrible. I felt humiliated, I felt I was taken advantage of, just because I didn't say a word. But trust me, I don't know how they managed to get onto the beauty magazine's article but I gotta tell you that the service I received was beyong disappoinment....
Please, think twice, before you throw away your money. I am not sure if it's only the issue of this specific masseuse but I really hope they will improve their services or they should feel ashamed for what they claim to be - professional in Tui Na.
