Well first off they made me pay my membership fees all through Covid, while they were closed. Secondly I have massive amounts of massages saved up because of this. I call and talked to their customer service. I was told that I had until 2025 to use them up. Went in to get a massage. Only to be charged. When I had over $500 saved up. They had "expired" they told me. It was only February of 2024. When I told them who I talked to they told me that I was wrong and that never happened. I walked out without paying. I will never be going back to a company that just takes money from their customers. Especially such a big amount. In the economy we are in. This post has nothing to do with the massage therapists themselves but the piss poor management and misleading sales tactics that the receptionist at the front desk used to sell a membership. For my birthday this year - my husband purchased a gift certificate that was used for multiple sessions. After my first session, I was approached with a sales pitch to sign up for their "promotion" for monthly services, with the promise that I could cancel at ANY TIME as long as I informed them BEFORE the next monthly billing cycle. Ok cool sounds fair... especially since I travel out of town for work regularly and cannot always commit to long term memberships!! WRONG Since my initial encounter with Massage Envy I have had 2 scheduled appointments canceled on their behalf because THEIR EMPLOYEES were unavailable.. Then less than 24hrs ago I called to schedule an appointment for 'today.' However today (still less than 24hrs since making those appointments & two hours before my scheduled appointment) I called to reschedule because of my unpredicted busy day, only to be told that I am going to be charged for 30 minutes on both services. Where was my 30 minute compensation When they had to cancel my appointments? The FINAL straw was when I asked the exact same persn who sold me the membership what I needed to do to cancel it? She then informs me that I signed a contract for a 12 month membership "" contract she repeated, therefore I could not just cancel it without having to pay for the entire membership. I intern stated that she was misleading when she sold me my Membership by LYING about it being a simple cancellation. As expected, she denied that she ever said this- so now she is claiming that I am being untruthful. Then she had the audacity to tell me that she's not feeling well, so she doesn't feel like arguing with me. Okay, stay at home! Unapologetically I really don't care because you lied to me and in good faith I believed you when you sold me a membership. This truly is just another case of misrepresentation of a franchise brand and you absolutely cannot trust anybody, regardless of how friendly and nice they may present themselves to be. TERRIBLE establishment. They trick you into contracts that you can't get out of and ones who didn't even know you were in. I would never recommend this place to anyone I know. Tell everyone know to save themselves a MASSIVE headache and to stay very clear of this place. read more

The worst massage ever. Told about areas of concern and yet the typical back massage for 45 minutes of the 60 there. No envy from this place and was not told of the 10 day cancellation policy on the highly pressurized sign the contract initial visit. Typical Dothan class. read more

FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE REVIEW: Very unclean and outdated was my first impression when walking in the door. The front desk was friendly, but they seemed scattered and the lobby was very loud for a spa. You're handed an iPad to sign in and asked to take a seat. No water or anything is provided. They take you into the "relaxation room" which is a room that feels like it is so dark to cover the unclean and poor quality of the room. The leather chairs are ripped and nothing seems to be taken care of. I honestly felt like i wanted to leave but decided to follow through. My esthetician came in and walked me to the room.. I was offered no robe, nothing just asked lay down on the table and let's get started. Worst facial i've ever had and not because of the person giving it to me I think it was because of her protocol she had to follow which was terrible and the items she is provided to give facials. Absolute joke. If I didn't have a gift card to use up I would have never been happy about paying $175.00 for treatment I received. When finished I walked out and went to the front desk and was pushed products I did not want to use. I understand they probably work on commission but at this point I was just ready to leave. i declined over and over.. and then had to listen to the technician ask the front desk girl her thoughts on the product and so on.. In my opinion this places needs a complete overhaul from an updated building to a complete training system on how to work at a spa and give the experience a paying customer deserves. People go here to feel better about themselves and relax.. this what not how I felt the entire time. Hope managers see this review and make the changes needed to be successful. I recently got a deep tissue massage from Chuck. He did an amazing (five star!!) job and was so knowledgeable! However, the front desk staff bombarded me with sales pitch after sales pitch when I can out to pay for my massage. That alone made me not want to return. The young woman told me that one of there massage packages was a 12 mo contract and the only way I could break that was to get a doctors note that stated I could no longer receive massages.. I think it's ridiculous that the only way to not have to pay for anymore Massage Envy's services once you've signed a contract is to have a doctor write a letter stating that you can't have massages anymore for medical purposes. That information WAS NOT disclosed to me when signing up. Also, your one of your staff members who gives facials is a smoker and had obviously just come back from a smoke break - her hands smelt of an ashtray the entire time which is not pleasant. I'm very disappointed in Massage Envy entirely and will not be returning in the future. read more

So - my husband bought me a prepaid annual membership for Christmas last year. COVID hit and they closed. When reopened i went to a couple of appointments and moved out if state in august 2020. I informed them at that time i was moving. I contacted new location and got voicemail every time and left messages with no return call. Needless to say i lost a lot of "points" well fast forward to the 9th of this month. i get a call from andrea that they are trying to process my card and it and is not working( new cc) i explained and told her i am not interested in membership. She did not say i am auto enrolled and needed to fill out cancellation form. Received a call today from andrew explaining i needed to fill out cancellation form. - did it and sent back. Got another call that i am a month behind and have to submit a payment. if i dont - i am submitted to collections?? Well massage envy! Do what you must but i wont pay another penny to you! Are you that desperate for money? I have been unable to use your services since august and have already paid a ton of money for services not provided.
