Fantastic Experience !!! For the last 9 months I have been going through the most stressful situation I have faced in my life . . . And I am 50. I had an epicenter of pain radiating from my neck that was so bad it made my skull ache. My back throbbed and even my hands hurt. I started looking on YELP for therapeutic massage. Stephanie's reviews were impressive. I also appreciated a professional looking web presence and even more important Stephanie's credentials. It was obvious she had passion for her work and that she had a multidisciplinary approach where she could bring different techniques to bear. I contacted her explaining my situation. I admitted I didn't know what I really needed being I had only had 1 massage and that was in 1992. She recommended a 90 minute session due to the level of discomfort I was having. We set it up and I looked forward to it. My wife is a patient at Johns Hopkins so we set it up for her home office which was nice and close. Plenty of parking available in front of her house. I was a bit apprehensive that I would feel uncomfortable but Stephanie seemed to make that disappear. Her home was nice with a calm aura . . . Nice smells, soft music, etc. The massage was great. A very calm relax full atmosphere. Stephanie explained what she was doing along the way. It was comfortable talking or not talking which was great. She really spent the first 30 mins untangling my knotty neck and shoulders. Then she worked each area releasing tension I wasn't even aware I had like the bottoms of my feet. Very professional and very personal in that I felt like she really tailored the program to my specific needs. She even gave me some small things I could do to help myself between sessions. The only downside is that she is 500 miles from where I live in Ohio. If my wife's medical condition keeps us here I will definitely schedule another appointment. Why did I wait so long!!! Stephanie has powers (fortunately she uses them for good.) Imagine you're a massage therapist (her) and the client on your table (me) says "Um...I don't really like massage" or "Um...is it possible for you to massage me without touching me?" or something equally overflowing with enthusiasm. Not saying I've been a difficult client, just a jaded one ~ earlier massage experiences were painful or otherwise unsatisfying. I regularly hear stories from folks about how they told a massage therapist what they wanted but still didn't get it or suffered for days after, and my stories were similar. Stephanie always respects my boundaries and pressure requests ~ building trust and confidence allowed me to let myself relax into the experience of being massaged, and reap the benefits more with each session. (Finding my way to that place of letting go enhances life away from the massage table and frees me up in other ways). Stephanie's patience and attention make it clear that the massage is for me; she doesn't tell me what I want or need. I'm the one living in this body ~ she asks me what's going on with it, what I want to give attention to, makes recommendations, checks in as she's working, and I feel comfortable saying "yes, no, less, more". In summary, she has rehabilitated me to the point where I recently caught myself craving a massage [gasp]. That was never the case before. I am feeling my years. I have issues with my legs and my back that have persisted in one form or another since I hit my thirties. During Snowmageddon I had to shovel and twist and shovel and twist and shovel and twist until I developed this tight spot in my back that has nagged at me for 2 years. I have this fear that I am going to start hunching over if I don't do something about it. But I am the type of person who won't seek treatment until I have at least a second problem. My second problem is a Baker's cyst in my left leg. I chose Stephanie as my massage therapist as part of my new approach to dealing with my injuries. I have had PT in the past for the knee and for my heels. When I am in PT I always feel that I have to prepare myself for the therapy and stay focused. I like being able to relax and let the magi hands work their wonders. Stephanie's hands are magic and I was relaxed to the point of nodding off. I had decided that this would be the year to finally crack the nut that is Baltimore. I picked Massage by Stephanie because of location, location, location. So I am ecstatic that she is really good at what she does. I drive up to Baltimore from Silver Spring for my appointments and stop for a bite before heading home. This past week the owner of the restaurant where I had dinner told me that I had a glow. Stephanie is by far one of the best massage therapist I have known. I have been seeing her since 2008. She is very kind and knowledgable. Today was a very interesting session though because I have been very stressed at work. She was very patient with me, giving me the space I needed, allowing me to talk when I felt like it or wander off in my thoughts when I needed. Session was not rushed, the Bose surround sound was amazing, and more importantly I felt like a new person by the time the session was over. I was in Baltimore visiting friends a few months back, and made an appointment for a massage while there. Stephanie was actually my first experience with professional massage. Since then I've had a few massages from different therapists closer to home, but I can without hesitation say that Stephanie is by far the best. She explained everything she was going to do beforehand, and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed throughout. It was absolute heaven! Stephanie is amazing. She's competent, professional, and caring, and the work she does is very effective! She handled the dull ache in my legs (I'm a distance runner) rather adroitly. I agree with other reviewers: she tailors her work to what you need. Stephanie's experience is definitely a plus. The prices she's set are far better than other massages that aren't nearly as effective. The salon out front may give the wrong impression. Ignore that. This was---hands down---the BEST massage I've ever had! I have chronic neck and shoulder tension, and have had many massages to address it in the past. None of those massages came close to the level of expertise that Stephanie has. She found all of the "spots" in my neck and shoulders, without much direction from me, and put the exact right amount of pressure on those areas. Stephanie is by far the best masseuse I've been to in Baltimore. My husband and I have tried others when groupons or deals are offered, but it is always a let down compared to Stephanie. She cares a lot about her clients and giving you the massage you need. As other reviewers state, she will listen to you and customize the massage to what you need. She frequently offers package deals and cares a lot about keeping her massages affordable. By far worth the price! read more

Stephanie is simply the best! I have enjoyed many massages over the years, but she is absolutely at the top of the list. She has the perfect combination of pressure, touch, and focus on whatever the client needs - she really knows what she is doing and seems to love what she does.
