Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at Everett MGH Hospital.
I recently called to find a Primary Care Provider. When I was seen in the ER not long ago, I was given a paper that clearly said that since I don't have a primary care provider, the hospital could provide one for me. In addition, when I checked my online patient portal, it also showed that MGH was accepting new patients.
When I spoke with someone named Brianna, she immediately interrupted me and said flatly: "No, we don't accept." This was the opposite of what I had in writing and online.
I then asked about getting a copy of my ER records. Instead of offering guidance, she just said: "Call Records."
* When I asked for the phone number, she rattled it off so quickly I couldn't even write it down.
* When I politely asked her to repeat it more slowly, she again repeated it at the same speed, with obvious attitude.
* When I asked if I could access the information through the patient portal, she again dismissed me with: "Call Records."
* When I asked her name, she mumbled "Brianna G." and refused to give her full last name, saying: "Why do you need that? You're not a patient." -- which is completely untrue, since I am a patient who has been seen in the ER.
Her entire approach was unhelpful, dismissive, and unprofessional. Patients deserve respect, patience, and accurate information -- not rudeness and attitude, especially when dealing with important matters like medical records and primary care.
I hope MGH management takes this seriously and provides better training, because no patient should have to experience this kind of treatment when reaching out for help. read more
