According to the mosque FB page, the Masjid's facility is structured on the first governor's mansion in the State of New Jersey and has been designated as a historical site in the federal and state registry. Just one thing to beware of - do NOT…read morelisten to this self-proclaimed "security guard" who will direct you to park in the lot adjacent to the masjid (it's actually the back of the bank's parking lot and you are NOT allowed to park there). Last week I went to MCNJ for the first time, as I happened to be in the area, and was directed by this man to park in what seemed to be a parking lot right next to masjid. Right after I prayed my sunnah, a lady made an announcement in the women's area that they were towing cars in the parking lot next door. I ran over and lo and behold, my car was being towed. Long story short, I was forced to pay $160 for the tow truck guy to lower my car (ridiculous) as the self-proclaimed "security guard" stood there watching. I was told afterwards that cars are towed every week from that parking lot during Jummah time. As a first time visitor to MCNJ I obviously had no idea and trusted this man to park in the lot. The most surprising thing was that I was also told that this man does NOT work for the masjid!! Beware!
