One of the architects from France, La Corbusier, who is very avant garde and pre alternative pre modern. This is actually a house and art gallery.
As a math nerd this was really cool to see all the unconventional geometrical alignments. One of the most unique buildings with all the traditional rules broken yet very functional. I felt like everything that I was taught in math class about geometrical rules was a lie.
The building has such a great echo that I accidentally farted and it was heard throughout the gallery.
All rooms are empty so that you can appreciate the actual structure for what it is rather than a staged living quarter.
Selected rooms have paint layer swatches which is cool.
The house is mostly lit with natural light. Depending on the time of day the incoming sunshine can reveal other intricate geometrical secrets.
It's not free but very reasonably price and isn't an annoying tourist trap. We paid 8 euros each. read more
