The restaurant came recommended by one of the employees at the vineyard. We paused outside to peruse the menu. A mix of lovely sounding salads, some classic and some more inventive starters and a range of main courses from lighter fish dishes through to some classic catalan fish stews and some seriously hearty sounding meat dishes. So far so good. We walked in to find the place PACKED! At lunch time on a random Thursday afternoon! Talk about a vote of confidence. The staff were very accommodating and somehow cleared enough space to set up a table for 5 people. The restaurant is actually quite large but is distributed amongst 3 or 4 different dining rooms so you don't feel lost amongst your fellow diners. Decor is simple with red and white checkered table cloths and wicker-seated wooden chairs. There was a vibrant energy to the place (not in a chaotic way) and the very friendly staff went about their business with an efficiency not lacking in attentiveness. Luckily, everyone ordered a good mix of dishes so we got to sample a decent range of their offerings. Their lighter dishes were appropriately delicate but prepared wonderfully and full of flavour and finesse (portobello carpaccio and fois gras terrine were firm favourites of the table). The monkfish soup starter was rich and powerful and so good that I would happily travel back to this restaurant just to eat multiple portions for my whole lunch! Even the simplest sounding main course (roasted chicken leg and thigh) was extremely well cooked and full of wonderful flavour (I don't know what they marinated/rubbed it with, but it was good!). The grilled and roasted fish dishes were all top notch and the oven roasted lamb shoulder was simply heavenly. Portion sizes were really quite generous, especially for the price! Unless otherwise stated or appropriate, most of the mains come with homemade fries and some salad and vegetables, though they are happy to substitute the sides to your liking. If I had to find one criticism of the food it was that the fries that come with a lot of the mains were not very crispy and were a little bland. This wasn't the end of the world though, and they functioned more like sauteed potatoes which, with a bit of added salt, were really quite pleasant. If you find yourself in the area for some good wine tasting or you want to escape the more touristy and pricy food options in Llança, this place is an excellent bet and will almost certainly cater to the taste of everyone in your group. Based on our experience, I'd recommend that you book ahead if you can (I'm sure that booking even a few hours before lunch would be a big help).

We were served in traditional tapas style , and as you can see from the photos, the fantastic things just kept coming. I did not post all pictures as it was too many items! The highlight of the meal included the Monkfish, the shrimp and the jamon. We were able to watch most of the preparation as Rafa makes the meal at the counter. Servics was absolutely fantastic- the food was served piping hot and the fish is the freshest you will find. The walk back to the hotel was quite nice along the ocean promenade. Don't forget to top your meal off with the port (spicy almond). We will be posting full trip details soon at www.gotravellife.com or follow us on Instagram @gotravellife.

There is nice terrace seating in a crowded alley and the inside looked comfortably rustic. The service was great and I give credit to the one waitress that took care of the entire place. The menu was read to us, so basically I think it's what comes in off the boat in the morning. Here's the thing, we loved it but I think the prices are a bit steep. There were three of us and we rallied 138€ for tomato salad (which was divine, mouth watering ripe tomatoes seasoned perfectly with salt and olive oil). Also, baby squid that were grilled perfectly, not chewy, just perfect, the seasoning was simplistic but effective. We had razor clams that once again where cooked perfectly and really stood on their own with a bit of lemon. We had white tuna, which was great but not enough to feed a child. Finally, we had monkfish, it was glorious, almost the entire fish was served chopped up. Again, cooked perfectly and seasoned simplistically. The monkfish should have been good because it was almost a third of the bill at 44€. I give 4 stars because it was an experience to try but I don't think I would do it again due to cost.

Llança is a small town during the off season. About 4000 people. Ive been told that during the high season it can swell to 40,000. That's insane. The fartherI traveled north up the Brava the more French i heard. Kind of crazy when youre expecting Catalan and Castellano. When we get to the restaurant it's fairly quiet throughout the town. There are some bathers and I realized that some of the women were going topless. Right in front of the restaurant! The captain said that basically theyve seen everything, so nothing surprises them anymore. True professionals. So after looking through the wine list briefly, we commenced with the tasting menu. Over the next few hours a procession of dishes, arranged in groups, that reflect the Llança, the Cap de Creus, and greater Catalonia cuisine. The creativity is on a very high level and some of the things look unfamiliar but the flavors were very much Catalan. Chef Paco at the end came out to say hi to us and talk about the cuisine. He grew up in the area and the cuisine and his cooking will always primarily be here. However if you cant make the trek all the way up the coast, he also runs the 2 Michelin star Enoteca in Barcelona. But i highly recommend getting out of the big city and make it up this way if you can. It's totally worth the experience and i. The end you can have a phenomenal meal.
