This is hands down the best fish fry in Omaha during the Lenten season! I'm not religious at all, but I will "go to church" for a good fish fry.
Mary Our Queen is both a church and an elementary school, and the fish fry line runs through the halls of the school, up and down the staircases, and into the cafeteria at the end.
The line usually will take a few hours to get through all that (it has to be the busiest fish fry in Omaha), but not to fret - there is lots to do in the line while you wait!
First of all, they serve beer in the line while you wait, so if you're going with a good group of people/friends, you can have a LOT of fun!
There are also usually Boy Scouts walking around selling popcorn too, so you can have a little snack while you're waiting for your fish fry dinner.
And once you make it to the front, the fish fry portion/food itself is SO GOOD! Giant pieces of juicy fish, super creamy mac and cheese, fries, and apple crumble! I'm sure the sides and dessert options change each year, but they are always good so you can't go wrong.
Next time Lent rolls around, if you're looking for the best fish fry in town (and you are okay with drinking/chatting/standing in line for a few hours while you wait), then look no further than Mary Our Queen! read more
