I came to this church with my wife this morning. Since we're married I told her I would go to church with her once a month. She's religious and I'm not so we came to this one because it's in English. We got here early so finding parking was easy. The church is behind the school and it's a pretty nice church inside. Very spacious and very cleaned, I seem some bad places before. The mass was okay and they had a band playing, my wife is used to a mariachi. They have their vendors outside so if you want some snacks after mass then just remember to have cash. read more

Receptionist is horrible and her boss is not much better. Went in to ask about a program my bother took with them and they insisted that the program never existed and they did not know what I was talking about. I asked to speak to someone else who might know more information and the receptionist did not want to pass on my message insisting that her lead would say the same thing. I insisted and it turns out her lead did know about the program I needed information on. Instead of apologizing she told me it was my fault because the receptionist has been here less than a year and she wouldn't have know. That's fine but what's not okay is refusing to ask someone else who might know more information and continuing to insist that the program no longer exist when it does. Extremely disappointing to see her boss encourage that behavior instead of correcting her and encouraging her to find the right information to help their community. Very sad to see that it's the people working at the church driving away their own patrons. read more

I just joined this church this year after our catholic church of over 39 years canceled a funeral mass a week before the event. We called Mary Immaculate, they opened their hearts, doors and accommodated is. I love how sweet, profesional and organized they are. Father Alberto conducted our mass and we could feel his love and welcoming. Everyone from the Organ player to office staff are amazing. They rescued us during a very difficult time. We are forever grateful. Our old church did reach out after and apologized for what One priest did to us. Made me open my eyes and realize that unfortunately sometimes one person can impact so much when there are still other priest that do care and love the community. Such an amazing lesson. read more

It's a nice church with good priests that makes mass enjoyable.

During unfortunate circumstances i attempted to get in contact with anyone via phone call at their general phone number. Press 1 you get the pastor Press 2 you get father walter Press 0 you get the operator Was on loop and hold for solid hour with no option to leave a voicemail at any extention. Was unable to get thru to any one at any extension. My mother is on her death bed , mary immaculate was her home church to whom she raised money for during earth quake reconstruction and i cant get a call back or thru to any one for mass arrangements or for her to recieve her last sacramemt by the church she was devoted to for over 30 year. "The Clappin' Mexican Church!" Jeez i love Pacoima, I don't know what it is, maybe the Latinos, maybe the fact that this was the first neighborhood I lived by myself at, or who knows but I think its great and this Parish is no different. I was expecting a little run down small little church like mine back home but I was shocked to see such a magnificent and grand building housing the many faces of the faithful in this wonderful community. All of the masses I've attended here are in spanish--don't know what I like about them-- and are accompanied by accordion laced songs that make you feel like you're in a church in a Hispanic country. Well Mexico, because the accordion, ha ha. The Polish priest speaks Spanish well enough for me to confuse him with a Spaniard of some sort. He is also quite a spectacle to watch give Homilies. There is another priest from New England who is also good, and the guy I caught tonight was good as well. Religion isn't about being pious folks. I like to sing together with my faithful peers, pray/meditate, and soak in the beautiful surroundings while I learn to be more compassionate toward my fellow man. There's also lots for tasty Mexican food places around too! I recommend my folks at El Mero Mero. They now have hot dogs! The burritos are good and cheap too. $4.50 read more

This parish is so friendly and although I've only been to mass here twice (since I live far away and have come in from work) I feel so welcomed and at home here. I love the Ash Wednesday service. There are literally thousands of people from all over who come with their families and with all ages. Since the church gets so packed, there is also service in the reception hall. The crowds and the vitality of the community here is something to see, and I found the experience of being surrounded by people from all walks of life and different languages - but who are my Catholic brothers and sisters - very, very touching. read more

I've found that the programs here especially the confirmation programs are horribly unorganized. Often rude and showing bias my daughter felt as if she had them pinned against her and was unable to find her love for Jesus in such an environment. Their team has a lack of communication and it shows. I would give it 0/5 stars if I could. The racism towards African Americans and antisemitism is rampant in this community of faith if you could even consider it such a "community". I can confirm through multiple people that the service and attitude of this church are not at all appropriate. They charge a large amount of money for a program that is not remotely worth such. The only part I would see fit was the retreat which was quite underwhelming. I would not recommend them to anyone! Such an unprofessional environment. read more

Don't get married here! Pretty much, we had been planning our wedding for over 7 months with this church. Day of the actual wedding, they have the nerve to tell me they didn't note down the right time. All of our paperwork said 11am and for some reason they had 1pm. Not only that! But the priest thought the wedding was at 3pm! Try being a bride and seeing that nothing was ready and everyone is confused. My family has been part of this church for many years but we will definitely not be going back. read more

Spoke to a father name Cesar and we felt unwelcome from the minute he saw us. we ask for any financial assistance and the first thing he ask was if we come to this church, or how do we even know knowledge of this church. Thats was pretty Rude for a so called father, we would think fathert Cesar would talk to us in private about our situation, but insted he talked about or case in front of every one,... he did not even greet us or of any kind welcomed us, because we did not go to this church. Im not a Catholic, but how ever gods house should be for every one, and not having the assistance to help the poor is understandable but, the way you unwelcome someone is not right..... didn't think that father named ceaser was the kind if person i though he would be. Went Tuesday for the baptism class punctually at six I was there I had a previous permission from the priest Cesar who very polite and sweet understood my situation and allowed me to bring my baby daughter who is going to be baptism, well I was happy cause even though I have two kids It was a nig help to bring her who is still breastfeeding and follow my beliefs. Well for my surprised the first face was at the door was this old moody lady "Connie" who denied my entrance she was the devil worship she had a nasty attitude she didn't even gave me the change to speak she was very sarcastic and mean she referred to my baby as "that kid" isn't permit. Well very disappointed and hurt by this old lady I was leaving when a lady approach me and told me if you have the priest permission go talk at the office she wasn't kind they have to do something about it. Well I went to the office and the sweet receptionist told me it shouldn't be any problem you have the priest permit go ahead let me call her first. Well back and forth she decided it was okay for me to be there. But for my surprised when I went back once again this lady asked my name at the entrance and gave the diploma telling me "now largate" in Spanish so "leave" I was respectful Thurs her cause I'm educated. I asked her how I need to listen the class and participated I want to. I want to be part of it. She said nope just leave. I went back to the office speechless and the receptionist told me I understand you we have many issues and complains about her difficult actitud of threatened people who is just here to do what they supposedly have to do. I'm sorry just take the certificate I dont understand what is wrong with her" she is volunteering... I left humiliated by her and I wasn't only me in the way to the car another lady was talking was she was mistreat by her as well. I love my believes by for people like her a lot of people change religion and churches. Sad I'm off course not baptizing my daughter there. read more

I took a baptism class here yesterday and I just have to say that it was such a waste of time! The class is 3 hours long. My previous experience with taking this class was 100% better than what I experienced yesterday. A baptism class should not be more than 1 hour long. Just to give you an idea...they made us get into groups and talk about why we think marriages end in divorce! Really?! Am I in the right class! They don't know what to do with 3 hours and talk about things that are not related to the class. The second issue was the coffee break. They offer you coffee for "free" but ask that you donate something...for sugar...maybe coffee. Last but not least...at the end of the class they pass out the famous baskets once again to donate money! I think this is wrong, you may or may not agree but this is my opinion. I would NOT recommend this class. I'm really upset at the fact that you take the time to learn what the meaning of baptism is and instead they waste your time talking about things that are irrelevant. Also be careful with the information you provide. If you are living together but not "married" you need to take another class in order to baptize. Oh that class is 6 hours long!! Ok so apparently no one is on the same page in the reception office approximately 4 days I called to stop receiving the offering envelopes because I no longer attend this church I went out my way find some type of paper, envelopes or anything from this church that has my number on it because the lady I spoke to made it NICE AND CLEAR that I needed that number and she couldn't look me up by my name or even bothered on taking my info down so luckily I did receive a envelope in the mail last night that had my number on it I just got off the phone and told the lady that I wanted to stop the envelopes that I no longer attend this church and without explaining what had happened a couple of days ago she asked for my name I am like huh? (Are you kidding me?!?! Now I am calling the SAME PLACE THAT I CALLED A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO!!!!!!) I kindly gave her my info and asked didn't you need the number her response if you have that's fine well I told whoever I spoke a couple days ago gave me a hard time about that number that she needed the number only that's why I am calling back now the lady stayed quiet.... now I am not sure if it's the same person I spoke to, they told someone else in the office or maybe she asked someone for the correct information I just don't know...... it's just unbelievable how things change in a couple of days never consistent and I'm not surprised one bit with this church just glad I left when I did. read more

My daughter attends Mary Immaculate school, and it is a blessing to have a great school nearby. I've searched many catholic schools before enrolling my daughter. Mary Immaculate fulfilled my expectations, they have a great staff and the teachers communicate well with us parents. Also, this school was the most economical from most private/ catholic schools in the valley. read more

I personally love Mary Immaculate school not only because the school is so united as a family, but because it builds faith. I currently have a graduate from Mary Immaculate Class of 08, and she loved her three years at Mary Immaculate. She always tells me how she could have been there all her life rather than barely coming in at 6th grade. She adored all her teachers, and so did I, each had no problem communicating in her weaknesses or in her triumphs. Once she graduated she was so torn to be separated from her home, and second family that it made me eager to enroll my second oldest. He loves the school and he enjoys psycho-motor days and the fun times with his classmates. He also loves his new teachers and always comes home telling us that he had fun doing some sort of activity with his teacher. I am very excited to see how my second oldest grows to love this school, just as my oldest did. Great school. read more

My children attend Mary immaculate school I highly recommend this school because the teachers are exceptional in their teachings. Children Learn and are given the attention needed due to classrooms not over crowded also, they learn respect and values not only for daily living but also to the word of God. read more
