Extremely nice guy with an amazing talent with his brushes. We decided to drop in on his shop in Grayton Beach to find a piece for our house. We needed something on a very large wall because what we had there was simply not doing the job. Clint was in the shop and helped us review some pieces and took the time to explain his process and how big a piece we would need to take up the space. His time is money, yet he took an inordinate amount of time to help us pick the right piece. And it was indeed the right piece. His rendering of a sea turtle (approximately 30" x 60") filled up the space and is the focal point of the room. Outstanding person, artist and local businessman. The Little and I came here for a family pottery class on Saturday afternoon and we were really…read morelooking forward to trying our hands at the pottery wheel. The class was small - we were joined by a mom and her three kids. Mercedes began the class by demonstrating how to make a vase using the wheel. She made it look easy but we could all tell that it wasn't. Still, we each got a lump of clay, centered it on the wheel and began. Unfortunately, my first effort started to resemble a toilet more than a vase and I had to start over. Fortunately, Mercedes was a patient and attentive instructor and made sure we each created at least one piece each that we were happy with. (The pieces will be glazed, fired and ready for pick up in about two weeks.) I left just frustrated enough that I can't wait to come back and try it again.
