Curate regularly has guest artists who are creating in the gallery and available to talk to patrons about their creative process and their art. I am normally invited, and I love digging deep into the "how" of the creative process. What is the inspiration? What is the artist's sequence as they create? That excites me. Nestled along Main Street in European feeling Rosemary Beach, Curate 30A is quite special and a place you will find high quality art, unlike so many places that sell what I call junk art. It's for the discriminating buyer! "A curator's job does not involve wizardry, but requires a wealth of experience and knowledge, responsibility, and a good overview of artistic developments. But if we are lucky, we curators still manage to enchant visitors with the results." ~René Block and Carin Kuoni, Words of Wisdom: A Curator's Vade Mecum

The class was small - we were joined by a mom and her three kids. Mercedes began the class by demonstrating how to make a vase using the wheel. She made it look easy but we could all tell that it wasn't. Still, we each got a lump of clay, centered it on the wheel and began. Unfortunately, my first effort started to resemble a toilet more than a vase and I had to start over. Fortunately, Mercedes was a patient and attentive instructor and made sure we each created at least one piece each that we were happy with. (The pieces will be glazed, fired and ready for pick up in about two weeks.) I left just frustrated enough that I can't wait to come back and try it again.

That's how I have tried to live, and it's true that you will find yourself naked and alone, because the easy course is to play life safe yourself and be critical of those of us who leave nothing on the table. That's most people - the do-nothing critics. They don't have the guts or the skills to do something! F them!

Well what I thought was a simple sun tattoo atleast. I was pleasantly surprised by how SHITTY my sun came out and to make matters worse she decided to place the henna right on the creases of my wrist so i accidentally fucked up the already shitty tattoo. I walked off but later after further messing up the POS I went back to get it fixed which was not a good idea as the young lady seemed to have completely forget what the stencil was supposed to look like.
