I have now had issues with the patio screen doors twice. The first issue was the continued coming off the tracks. An agent came to the house and did what he could and I assumed it was done. The next issue was the inability to remove the screens to replace them. The screws are small and are frozen. To remove the screen I need to unscrew it and I was afraid to strip the screws. The covers always fall out so it must have allowed moisture to impact the screws. When I called for service, I was send a manual, nothing more. I replaced the screens while the doors were in place but I would never buy a Marvin product again. These were chosen by my contractor and I regret this poor quality product. read more

I splurged on Marvin slider patio doors- Ultimate, custom sizing, premium mahogany wood interior- the total cost with installation was nearly $18,000. They were literally installed TODAY and the attached photos demonstrate the product sent by Marvin- frame with scratches/ broken areas/ splintering and doors/ frame with many nicks and dents. Additionally, the black lining inside the glass is peeling and sloppy. What a joke! You're better off buying in stock bargain brands at the Home Depot or Lowe's for $1500 for much better quality! Terrible Fit and Finish: Like Something Out of an East German Housing Block We bought 7 large sliding doors, plus 3 windows, from Marvin's Elevate collection (formerly Integrity) in June 2025 for our sunroom. Installation occurred several months later. The terrible fit and finish on all 7 sliding doors is unacceptable. There are huge gaps where the trim pieces meet due to the sliding doors being manufactured with stocks of two different thicknesses. This manufacturing process makes it impossible to create a frame with a clean, flush edge. I can't understand how a process that consistently produces a defective product was approved. It is not an installation issue. I've been trying to get this resolved since the job was completed by first contacting the installer, then the Marvin showroom in Boston and everyone involved. A Marvin rep inspected the product and he agreed that fit and finish is unacceptable. He re-measured the sliding doors and ordered replacement stock, only to receive the same defective product. I've shared my photos and spoke with multiple people at Marvin. I've left multiple messages with the inside care agent in charge of my case. She has not responded to my calls or email. At this point, I would never buy a Marvin product again. read more

I had professional install 5 marvin ultimate windows 4 out of 5 windows had defects, with severity ranging from minor to middling severe. IE nothing serious. The issues were addressed, but it took a lot of nagging. For a literal top-of-the-line product, I expected much better. read more

The company that did the install was great. The Marvin door was a POS. I paid $300 for a fiberglass door that was on discount at HD and after 20 years it was rotten at the bottom and sides of the door. So knowing that Marvin was the cream of the crop and top of the line product that made incredible windows and doors, I bought one to replace ours. As I stated the install was great and the people who did the install, the quality of craftsmanship they have to intermingle your current floor and the trim you had was great. The product! Is crap! The paint is all "chalky and scratches if you look at it!" The door panels have scratches from the cardboard that it was shipped in even! It's not a door that's been powder coated like my Eagle windows. It's the ethicist mist of paint I've ever seen. The door latch has the quality of one I'd get from TEMU, the HD or Lowes door assembly's are better than this piece of tin. And the locking mechanism is a rotating Cam that fills in a gap of the handle so it can't go down. That's not a lock. And unless you slam the door handle to the top, the cam won't rotate enough to have it rotate up. 39 days so far after the install and filing a complaint to Marvin and no results or communication from Marvin, only to say We're having someone else review the case, we'll get back to you. Well that's unacceptable given the date of installation and a complaint filed within a week after install. Don't buy a Marvin!!! The door was $10k dollars and I should have gone to HD and spent $700 for another fiberglass door! read more

I do not recommend this company. I had all the windows replaced on my house with Marvin windows. 3 windows that were installed leaked. Marvin suggested we withhold $3000 from the final bill until they repair them. It took a few months for Marvin to come out and replace seals on those windows. Unfortunately, the windows still leaked. Despite repeated attempts to have them fix the leaks, Marvin seemed to stop communicating. They then would call from time to time and ask for payment to which I asked them to repair or replace the defective windows so I can finalize payment. Now they are threatening to put a lien on my house and send me to collections. I've tried reaching out to them again but they will not respond. My son's room is now freezing in the winter and I have to tape up the window to keep the cold out. read more

Hostile, Unaccountable, and Costly - Avoid Marvin Windows We spent $50,000 with Marvin Windows and received a defective window that had to be replaced. Two of our three large casements have never closed properly despite a bunch of attempts to fix them when they were still under warranty. I spent $35k+ on Marvin's Ultimate windows and doors for my first floor, expecting premium quality. The experience has been frustrating: One window sash wasn't square, leaving a gap when closed. All windows were supposed to have extended jambs, but one arrived without them -- a clear QC miss. Replacements have a 12-week lead time, leaving issues unresolved for months. The installer also mis-measured the door, so I'm living with a piece of plywood until mid-December. This is Marvin's top-of-the-line product, and the quality control and support haven't matched the price tag. This review is about Marvin Replacement (similar to Renewal by Andersen). To sum up my experience - They a serious price gougers. I asked for a quote on a 4 panel slider. The salesman put the info into his tablet and gave me a price. I asked to see the details (how much for the door, labor, etc) and he stated that he didn't have access to it. All he could do was furnish me the final number. After he left I contacted my local Marvin dealer and got a detailed quote that was $10,000 less than what Marvin Replacement had given me for a price. Our Marvin windows were installed by Sanibel Mirrors and glass Co. in Ft. Myers, FL. we met with the owner who is very knowledgeable and professional. His installation team showed up on time and were very courteous and capable. The work was clean and neatly done. They put down materials to protect our floors during the work. Windows were perfectly caulked and sealed. We have had no problems with the Marvin Windows which were installed ten months ago. The quality has been great and we feel that they were a good value compared with other options available to us. read more

We ordered four glass doors from Marvin - three sliders and one French door. We paid more than $17,000, waited about 4 months and based on their verbage on their website (made in America, pride, quality, etc), I was feeling pretty confident. Of the three doors I have so far opened: 1) frame broken, door bowed, cosmetic damage 2) cosmetic damage (dents and gauges in the wood) 3) cosmetic damage (as above), latch installed upside down so door will not close 4) haven't dared open it yet They were not fast to respond to my complaints and by the time they did, my contractor had repaired the frame and installed the bowed door (bowing the frame to match how concave the door was), citing that we could not wait another four months for a replacement. Eventually, I was put in touch with BMD, the company that deals with Marvin's warranty and service calls. They offered to order a new door and frame to replace the broken/bowed one and send a technician out to repair the cosmetic damage. OK, that's fair but also meant a wait of another 3-4 weeks which is holding up construction again. Also, having already had the broken-but-repaired frame and door installed, my GC would be charging $1000+ to pull it out and install the new one. I asked Marvin if they would cover those costs as a gesture of goodwill. They said "NO" and sent me to BMD, saying that "discussions of compensation are unfortunately out of our hands at this point. That is something to be discussed with BMD directly as they are our distributor" - which completely flummoxed me as the product is Marvin's and all BMD did was ship it to me - so why should they pay compensation ? Anyway, all in all, I really regret spending my money with Marvin - shoddy product, apparently no quality control, poor customer service and absolutely zero accountability. I'd love to be able to email Paul Marvin, the CEO, and share my experience with him directly as I'm pretty sure this is not the experience he hopes his customers are having. The "balance tubes" on double hung windows fail.The part you lock the window into and to which the string that is under extreme tension from the spring is 1/8" plastic. All of mine have failed. So now of I unlatch the window hasp the top window slams down with zero resistance and the lower window is very difficult to open but there is no point to opening it because it cuz they are both broken! read more

If I could give a negative star, I would give it a negative 10. This patio door has been a nightmare since it was installed 4 years ago. I have called customer service countless times and their service techs have replaced seals and both door slabs and it still leaks air. When the wind blows and it's cold out we get a line of frost about a foot up the side of the jamb. 20 MPH wind out of the west today and i can see the curtains inside the door moving. Last time they replaced bottom seal, they made it so tight that when it gets cold, it takes 2 hands to open the door. My 6 year old grandson can't even open it by himself. Had Marvin replacement windows installed throughout (16 windows) about 4-5 months ago, in three phases (my choice, so the work was contained over 1 day sessions in separate parts of the home). Overall the product is very good. We are pleased with the look and performance of the windows (U-V filtering, opening and closing, looks). The sales consultant was very knowledgeable and pretty helpful (we'd already had visits by Andersen and Pella) and in comparison we felt we got a reasonable deal, and accommodation for our installation schedule. The downside was the installation team for the first 6 windows. They were generally unpleasant, uncaring and very clumsy. Scaffolding collapsed when taking it down, damaging walls and a hard wood floor. We only noticed this damage after they departed. The installation company wanted to send the same team back to 'fix the floor'! If we wanted windows we would not have a flooring team install such, so why would we trust an uncaring window team to do hardwood floors?! The company agreed not to send the same team for the next two install sessions. The next team were night and day different - respectful, caring, clean, tidy and competent. The other downside was difficulty encountered opening the upper sash of double hung windows (only the lower sash has a handle - yet the promo videos show ease of opening the upper sash). The project manager gave a long spiel about tilting the lower sash (as in cleaning it) and sliding a hand up to grasp the upper sash to pull it down!. The final install team suggested a handle could easily be fitted, as already on the lower sash. Simple, easy, cheap solution surely? So after spending over $30,000 the project manager tried to nickel and dime us $15 for each handle! Ugh! Nasty taste in the mouth. As of today, the floor is not fixed but we got the two extra handles! Buyer beware! read more

As an update to my prior review. It seems Marvin purchased the repair company (I think it was called super windows) who were price guaging. There was no other company to call when your windows needed servicing. So the price has much improved. Not cheap by any means still but much better than it was. However it took them maybe one year to get the parts for one of my windows. Our windows are double hung windows and I gave them the exact dimensions of the window from the purchase contract. But they wanted to come take a look first. OK. But why would it take a year from the time I reported the need for service. The issue was the bottom window would not stay up. This seems to be the most common issue and it happens often. Sometimes the top sash won't stay up - that is a much more difficult issue to deal with. But the repair doesn't take very long to make once they have the part and are there making the repair. They do a good job with the repair. I wish they would make the parts hold up better. The suspension parts that hold the windows up seem to be very delicate and therefore they break easily out of no where. The windows are extremely heavy and so the parts are not made heavy gauge enough. I still would not buy Marvin again because there are just too many issues. Unfortunately we are stuck with them. read more

My mother and I ordered Ultimate wood clad windows (single hungs and gliders) and a pre-hung door system from Marvin in the summer of 2015. We were sold on a great service and parts warranty from the store in Santa Fe, NM. What I did not realize at the time was that we are the last priority in a long chain from Marvin to distributor to retailer to customer. 2 of the windows came non-working (parts missing from the factory!), the door system came absolutely bunged, and more than 50% of the windows continue to have problems, including seams on the exterior cladding that are separating. The vinyl parts warp, and the weather seals tear when the windows open and close; we even had a sash that came warped. Marvin made a new vinyl product to replace some of the warped parts, but we waited months for the parts (as usual) and then months more for the one technician that serves Colorado and New Mexico for the warranty repairs. BMD is the distributor, and they are apparently in charge of finding the warranty repair technician and parts. However, they do not repsond to the purchaser of the windows. Clear Ovations was the store near us in New Mexico where we purchased the windows and my only contact for parts and repairs to these windows that constantly fail, and Marvin suddenly pulled the plug on them. God bless all those who had orders pending at that store. I called the Marvin company, and they have not yet responded as to where I can go for parts and service. I DO NOT recommend even looking at Marvin for wood clad windows and doors. The price is extremely high, the windows are simply no good, and Marvin fails to make good on their product. We now have a lot of regrets and windows that don't open and close properly and are already disintegrating. And no, it was not the installation. That was done in strict adherance to the installation instructions for the windows. Marvin does not have any instructions for the installation of the door system we bought. Other Non-Marvin wood clad windows in the house that are 25+ years are holding up well. I thought the Marvin products would do the same, but they are already worse than the older windows at 7 years. read more

Purchased 8 sliding glass Marvin doors 9 years ago and one self combusted from the inside while the house was unoccupied. I contacted the Marvin sales rep at the building supply company in Southampton NY where the doors were purchased. After a week of waiting the sales rep (who only saw my photo) said he spoke to both his installation and Marvin's "super service" depts and said they concluded I must've hit it as it is an impact break. I explained that was not true and there was no impact what so ever. The house is a second home and was unoccupied of which I have proof. It was fine when I left and 5 days later when I returned the door glass was completely shattered. That door out of the 8 purchased is located above my AC vent and there were weeks of hot humid 90 degree days then there was a sudden cool day. That same night I received many alerts from my motion camera of which I saw nothing but odd light changes. It became clear the camera was picking up the breakage as the next day to my surprise I found the glass shattered. I have done my research and there are other consumers who have had the same issue with Marvin doors self combusting. There is a known defect with Marvin glass of which weather changes can also cause this. I informed the sales rep of this defect and he didn't seem be aware or concerned. This door is a stationary door in a back room corner with a plant in front of it and a table. I would have to levitate myself over objects and somehow unknowingly bang into it. I would also have to be in two places at once being a 100 miles away. Marvin's accusation is ridiculous, insulting and unprofessional. A clear lack of accountability or concern. Perhaps because I am a woman Marvin and its reps think they can convince me of their absurd accusation. Unfortunately they have the wrong woman. I have cameras and videos to back up my claim and I will do whatever it takes to get this resolved and hold Marvin accountable. I expect urgency to resolve this issue. read more

Mediocre, code-compliant product (important for those of us in state's with tough energy codes), some odd quirks (beige threshold on a white door??), but absolutely unacceptable delays in shipping the correct product (5 tries on a single kitchen window that was very clearly specified in the plans - they blamed covid - fine). But covid is not the problem. Buyer beware of the Marvin Elevate line - if the glazing breaks on your window, the glass cannot be replaced - you must order an entire new window. After a 5 month wait, the wrong replacement window was shipped - a seriously bad game of telephone between the local dealer, the distributor, and Marvin. The correct window is listed on the order I placed, but clearly that was lost in translation on the way to the factory. Marvin's representatives promised the moon and the stars at the Builder's Show (ok, they promised an attractive product and good service), but in the end, it is a code-compliant but mediocre product with awful customer service. I recently installed 2 Marvin Signature Wood Clad French doors. Within a few months one door had a seized multipoint lock. The handle and the dead bolt do not turn and I am unable to open the door. This is a safety and security issue because its the only exit point of that room. Marvin has only responded by email saying the standard parts take 2-4 weeks to arrive and they will contact me then. It's been 11 days already. Not pleased after paying lots of money for these doors. read more

Horrible service and response. Our contractor ordered the windows through Zeeland. Zeeland placed the order with Marvin. The windows arrived and it was noticed four of the custom windows were ordered incorrectly. Being that Zeeland (a distributor of Marvin windows) made the mistake and not Marvin, Marvin would not expedite the re-make to meet the deadlines. The first deadline was to be the end of September, then it moved to October 25th and the latest is December 5th. The re-make windows were ordered in May!!! We are talking about four custom windows. Our contractor either gets no reply or if lucky, a delayed reply saying it is the glass company that is delaying the windows. Really? This is awful. I would highly recommend another company that is 1. More customer service oriented. 2. That responds when their distributor makes a mistake. 3. By far, the worst experience I have ever gone through with a company. The Marvin brand in my opinion is overrated and I was fooled into thinking this was a high-quality product for the price I paid for all of these windows. This is not about the product - it's about the service. I live in Minnesocold. The Low-E glass, windows are great. After ten years I need a replacement sash lock (double hung window). I assumed (wrongly) that I could go to the Marvin web site, and purchase the lock. Marvin doesn't sell replacement parts. The gave me several names of lumber companies in my area. The bottom line is their staff sells windows. They are idiots when it comes to getting a simple part. After wasting half a day - I finally found a source of supply on the internet. But it's hard to believe that a brass sash lock is $86!! But at least I got it. read more
