Bucket List Top 5: CHECK! Two Christmases ago, my partner gifted me the ultimate experience with Marvel Ballooning -- a hot air balloon ride! After a couple of unexpected delays (and a touch of vertigo on his part!), the big day finally arrived... and it was so worth the wait. I flew with Pilot Joe and two fellow adventurers on a breathtaking sunset ride I will never forget. Drifting peacefully above fields and neighborhoods as the sky turned shades of gold and pink was nothing short of magical. It was quiet, awe-inspiring, and deeply calming -- more incredible than I ever imagined. A huge shoutout to the amazing ground crew, who were ready with perfect timing and warm smiles right when we landed. Growing up in San Diego, I used to watch hot air balloons float by and wonder what it felt like to be up there. Now I know -- and it exceeded every expectation. Our pilot Joe (and his family) was fabulous (kind, funny, knowledgeable) it was our first time flying in a hot air balloon so we were a bit anxious but we got to experience the entire process of setting balloon up for flight and packing it up along with safety lessons. This was an amazing experience! We took this balloon ride November 1, 2021 using part of our wedding money and were not disappointed. It was a very peaceful, yet exciting event. From the beginning, Joe was able to answer all our questions and provide much guidance about the whole process. Booking was easy, payment was easy. We had an amazing ride with Joe at Marvel Ballooning. It was a perfect night. Joe and his crew were very friendly and professional (and efficient). Once you see how the balloon goes together, you'll never look at one again the same way. Joe is a professional airline pilot, so safety is #1. The ride itself was like nothing I've ever experienced.
