Because of his professional and beautifully written letter, my property manager let me out of my lease with ease! I contacted Jacob Iloulian Law Firm during an extremely stressful and time-sensitive situation…read moreinvolving landlord harassment and serious concerns about our rental housing. I was seeking legal guidance and representation at a time when my family genuinely needed help. From the very first phone call, the attorney came across as curt, dismissive, and uninterested. He asked what outcome I wanted and told me to email him all the documentation. When I tried to explain that our situation was time-sensitive because of ongoing harassment concerns, I was essentially told to email everything and wait for him to review it. There was little acknowledgment of the urgency or concern for what we were experiencing. Approximately 15 minutes later, he called me again, apparently believing I was a different prospective client named Alex. During that call, his tone was noticeably more enthusiastic, polite, and receptive. However, as soon as I clarified who I was, his demeanor changed, and he returned to the same curt tone, telling me he was reviewing my emails. I was subsequently sent a $250 invoice without a clear explanation of what the charge covered or a meaningful discussion about whether he would be representing us. When I expressed my discomfort and said I did not wish to move forward, his only response was "ok." The entire experience left me feeling dismissed, confused, and uncomfortable. When someone reaches out to an attorney, particularly during a housing crisis, they deserve clear communication about fees, expectations, and whether the attorney is willing to take their case. Even if an attorney cannot accept a case, basic professionalism and respectful communication should be the minimum. As a woman seeking help in an unfamiliar and intimidating area of law, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I cannot speak to how this firm handles cases once representation begins, but my experience during the initial consultation process was deeply disappointing. I would strongly encourage prospective clients to clarify all fees, the scope of any consultation, and whether the attorney is actually considering representation before proceeding. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this firm.
