Great range of fruits and vegetables normally at pretty good prices. Can get pretty crowded at…read moretimes. Also they are not open on Sunday which is not that convenient. There are quite a few other fruit shops within easy walking distance so it pays to shop around a bit if you have the time. Parking is also quite hit and miss, along that street if you get a spot it's very convenient but if not it is a long walk

Imagine that but with Italian Australians yelling "beautiful strawberries, two for four dollar, two for four dollar!" and you have Superfresh. With plenty of fresh fruit and vege, good prices and plenty of Asian produce, it's no wonder that this is one of the main hubs in Eastwood's 'Chinese side'. I always see an Aunty of some sort when I'm here - whether a real relative, a friend of my parents or a parent of my friends. Wear good shoes and be prepared to lose all concept of personal space, particularly on Saturdays. It's always a bit overwhelming for newbies, and who knows how the line for the checkout really works, but it's better than legging it to Flemington and you'll emerge with prettier veggies than the gwei lo next door who shops at Woolies. Just don't take all the good bok choy.

Looking for ingredients for an Asian meal, I headed off to Madam Hoo. I can practically guarantee…read morethat she will have whatever I need. I have been going to Madam Hoo for several years. Not only does she have the weird and wonderful but she also carries a lot of frozen products such a pork buns, gow gees and dim sims that you can steam at home. The variety is unbelievable. If you can get past the weird and wonderful packets of strange items, which I am not sure whether you eat or use as medicine, I realise that although Madam Hoo sells them, I don't actually need a rice cooker this week. It's an absolute wonderland of food and small appliances, newspapers and DVD's. I bypass the Asian sweets but hang around the noodles, fresh and dried. I finally end up near the vegetables. We're lucky in Castle Hill to have lots of local growers so the vegetables are as fresh as can be. The shop is full to capacity with stock and in some places its hard to maneuver but that's half the fun. My visit to Madam Hoo is finished,I only have to pay but I am always happy to hand over my money because Madam Hoo is quite inexpensive. For $20 you can get a whole basket of things. Why go to the larger supermarkets for Asian products when you can go to Madam Hoo - I love her.

As an employee from Melbourne who has been in Sydney for two years due to work related reasons, I…read morethought any 10kg bag of rice would be the same in most places. To my surprise, the same bag costing ~$23-28 in other places was almost double at $40 upon arrival on the counter - note prices for the rice were NOT marked on shelf. This is a far comparison from even the few other asian grocers within 1-5km radius such as that within Castle Mall or Baulkham Hills or even that compared to my previous shopping region of Pacific Square in Maroubra. Sure, I could accept that the store rental is dear within Castle Towers. HOWEVER, upon opening the rice bag, I find it crawling with small insects. These insects were also revealed upon retrieving the bag from the rack. I should've suspected earlier. Perhaps it was a bad batch, or perhaps from bad storage or lack of stock flow due to the prices. In business, I understand that you either float or sink; but this is one way of staying afloat that will guarantee the floundering of the business. I for one will not being returning, but hope that this review may change your future practice.
