I am sad to write this unfortunate review on a local business, but I have to share my experiences…read moreover the past 10 months with Alain and his business. Overall: He has good prices, but lost my trust as he failed to show up and took advantage of my not being in the same city as the property I asked for lawn maintenance. I sincerely hope he will learn to do better even though he didn't do right by me. *First impression* As you can read from my first review, I was really impressed with my first experience with him. He asked for a review immediately for the other company name EZ Yards, but said he had some issue with Yelp account. He responded timely and did the job amazingly. I requested lawn maintenance (hedges and mow the lawn) every two months (he insisted on monthly - I obliged bc it's small business) on my parents' property in a different city than where I live. I needed a business I could trust that would do the job and do it well. My parents are getting older and Alain seemed to understand the importance of family. And I've been taken for a ride! *The long game* I was very impressed the second time he came when I wasn't in the city because this time before asking for payment he sent pictures. *Red flags I should've noticed* - He insisted monthly maintenance, but instead came when he could. - I would receive text messages saying he was going to the property thinking he would show up only for another one to come the next week saying he was definitely going. - He never sent pictures to prove the maintenance was done, but again I thought I could trust him. *Chances Upon Chances* One of his services said he could cut tree branches. So I asked if he could trim some branches. I sent him pictures of the tree I wanted cut. He said that if he hauled them away it would be extra so it would be cheaper to leave it for the city to pick up. I told him where the city would pick up and even sent him a picture. I came to check on the property to find the tree was poorly cut and the branches left in the wrong spot. I didn't mind the tree, but told him he placed the branches in the wrong area. He said he would show up that day to move them. Then, he said he would show up the next day. He never showed. Instead, I had to move the branches myself with my older mother in the rain to avoid a citation from the city. Despite this I wanted to give him another chance, he shared with me that he had something come up with his family. He wasn't specific, but I decided to give him another chance bc of how much I love and care for my family. *The Last Experience* End of April 2021/Beginning of May 2021: I asked if he could go to the property and cut the lawn and hedges (regular lawn maintenance) bc we got a citation from the city. He said he would get to our property but it's taking him time bc he landed a big contract. Regardless, he said he cut it and asked me for $60 I came to visit my parents for Mother's Day weekend just to find that the bushes were not cut and the edges where the grass meets cement or the house were over a foot tall. I sent him pictures and circled the areas. He didn't respond. I had to text him again asked for an explanation. His response exactly: "My. Weed whacked broke on the spot." I asked about the hedges and he never responded. I don't understand why ask for money when you didn't do the job bc your machine broke? Why not tell me? My only guess is bc he knew I dont live in the same city and can only visit when I can. He never apologized nor did he say I'll come back and do it. He never offered to refund my money. I thought that he wouldn't want to lose consistent business so I was hoping he would apologize but here we are in the middle of June and I haven't heard a thing. We live in a time where trust is easily broken. It's hard to find people and business to trust. I trusted this man. I truly did, and I feel nothing short but taken advantage of. *Why then am I giving him two stars instead of one?* Bc I know deep down he is a good man. I think if you live on the property and can see the job he does immediately; He won't take advantage of you. *Use my review as a notice of caution* I want his business to succeed and maybe it's growing at an exponential rate that he can't keep up. He would rather choose businesses that offer more money than a residential home that's essentially lowering hanging fruit. Perhaps, if you go into business with him you too might want a contract. I've learned my lesson. I hope he will do better. I wish him the best, and I will fight for my money refunded from the bank.

I was very specific that the roots needed to be out as well, since I was not there that day I asked how it was going and was told that all was complete, I asked once again if the roots were out and was told that they are absolutely out. I paid them in full and even gave extra tip. Once I came home I noticed that the roots are not out, I reached out and no answer, I reached out few more times and sent the video showing that the job wasn't completed with no answer. Sad part is that I would have given them more projects if only they stood behind what was promised.

Shame on those companies. It was a very stupid experience. It was down to the wire and we ALMOST missed our city's debris pickup deadline. Grrrrrr......... At least one tree service had the decency to recommend MC Tree Service to help us when they had a personal emergency and couldn't do our job. 4 stars - Came right out after missing an appointment with us due to car troubles. @_@ Very apologetic though. I forgave them. Lol. 5 stars for not price gouging us. In fact, for the quality of the work, we actually got a more than fair deal. The tree was large and a tricky location. They did no damage to anything. They place the trimmings where bulk pickup would have no problem getting to them. They were very timely. Not sure if they take credit cards but they do take checks and cash. We would not hesitate to use this company again.

I was going to move forward with another company due to the pre-service experience. The rep offered to go by and still give an estimate due to the inconvenience. After surveying other companies (via Yelp), found that MC Tree had the best price for the job. Booked them for a few days later. Once again, MC Tree was not able to make the first appointment so we rescheduled to the following day - a Sunday at 9am. I arrived on the site at 10am and the team was hard at work. There was a team of trimmers and the owner, supervising. I stayed a little but had to leave. Based on what I saw, the feedback I gave and the explanation of what to expect, I left with confidence that the job would be done correctly. All in all, I was very pleased with the job MCT did! Once things finally got going, everything went well. It looked like they nor the overgrown trees had ever been there. No trash or clippings were left behind (haul-away is available). I was VERY happy with the outcome. I'd definitely recommend this company based on the output. Just prepare to be flexible.

Paul and his crew performed some fairly tricky tree trimming work on a very large Avacado tree at…read moremy home that had a diseased and compromised branch which was about 30 feet from ground level, extending another 30 feet in height. Because of the location of the tree, they could not get their bucket truck near the job. They essentially had to use a series of ropes, carabiners, pulleys and other gear to both reach and remove the diseased limb. I was amazed at not only their skill, but the care they used to removing the branch one section at time. They did not damage any other parts of the tree, which is fairly impressive given how difficult this job was and how brittle Avacado tree branches are. I've done some technical climbing when I was young and could quickly tell that these guys are true pros. Every aspect of their operation was carefully planned and conducted. The work was done safely and thoughtfully. The job site was cleaned immaculately when finished. The price was more than fair. I highly recommend Paul and his crew.
