However, we did enjoy browsing the owners collection. Once the owner greeted us, he asked if we needed help and was very accommodating. Honestly, this place is worth checking out, just to see all of the old books, the rolling ladder, and if you are in search of vintage books this is your place. It is street parking here. I ended up getting an old Girl Scout manual, and the owner let me know that he also does repairs. We will definitely come back!

This is a tiny bookstore located in the Lancaster City Public Library. All proceeds from the sales…read morego to the library fund, which makes it a worthwhile place to purchase used books. When I asked, the lady running the station told me that all the items for sale were previously in circulation or held by the library in some capacity. I purchased a few DVDs and a first edition book that were very fairly priced, and looked to be brand new. There were no markings on either to indicate they were ever circulated, so I'm wondering if some items in the shop were also donated at one point or another. While I imagine the collection doesn't change over too often, I'll try and re-visit every month or so to see what else they've added. It's worth stopping in while you're visiting the library!

For those who are reading this and are from the DMV area think of Busboy & Poets but with a little twist. So what's the twist you ask? They offer beer and wine through a self-serve tap system. Meaning you receive a wristband that allows you to help yourself to a variety of local beers and wine. Each is charged by the ounce and is charged to your tab at the end of your visit. An added bonus is two of the wines that were available were made in-house; the Concord Jungle and Mizz Education. We enjoyed the Mizz Education which is a sweet and refreshing Moscato so much we ended up taking two bottles home with us. Let me just say this, I've been to my fair share of restaurants for brunch and the food at Concrete Rose hands down is the top 5 best food I've ever had. We tried a variety of options which include the Salmon Avocado Toast, Soul of the Sea and Chicken wings with concord bbq sauce. All were seasoned, cooked and plated to perfection. Whew Lord just thinking about those crab cakes with herbed garlic butter and remoulade sauce has me thinking about taking a road trip to get some more. If you've ever wanted socks, mugs, pens, puzzles, stickers, or stuffies that loudly announce I READ, this is your spot. They do tend to run pricey, but I think that's typical of all mall stores, and I'd rather buy from a local shop than Amazon if I can help it. Theres a BAM membership you can sign up for that helps, and they do occasionally have nice sales, so just be on the look out for those if you're looking to save a few bucks.
