I am forever grateful for the experience I had working with Genesis for EMDR therapy. From the very…read morebeginning, she was incredibly patient and took the time to explain the entire EMDR process to me step by step, including what to expect and how each phase works. That helped me feel safe and comfortable going into something that felt a little intimidating at first. Throughout the time I worked with her, I always felt heard, respected, and genuinely supported. Genesis is very thorough and attentive, and she creates an environment where you feel safe enough to process things at your own pace. She never rushed the work and always made sure I felt grounded before moving forward, which meant a lot to me. Over time, I noticed a real difference in how I was able to process past trauma, and the progress started to show up in my everyday life. The work we did together truly helped me in ways I'm very thankful for, and it made a positive impact that I will carry with me moving forward. I highly recommend Genesis to anyone considering EMDR therapy or looking for a therapist who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to helping her clients. She is amazing at what she does, and I feel very lucky to have worked with her. Thank you so much Genesis!

She asks the right questions at the right times and never rushes for a response; and not knowing how to respond is always fine too as her questions start the ball rolling towards something a little deeper that we often have difficulty talking about or just not know how to talk about or have never even thought to talk about it. We need more therapists or just people in this world like Genesis.

One day my wife told me to get out. It was a life devastating moment. In the blink of an eye I lost…read moreeverything, my home, my wife, my daughter, my world. One of the issues she had was that I got angry a lot. I was never violent... but I was angry. We had lost all of our real estate when the bubble burst in 2007, and that constituted millions of dollars that I came into the marriage with (my wife had nothing but debt when we married), so I WAS angry... because much of our loss was due to her credit card purchases that ruined my good credit so I could not save us. Yes, I was angry. When she told me to leave it was only temporary (at the time), dependent on my getting help not to be so mad. So Within 3 days of my expulsion I enrolled in an anger management class at Village Family Services. It was a voluntary enrollment so I only had to go for 12 weeks. The other men in the group were all there by court order (many for over 40 weeks), and they had to fill out paperwork every session and turn it into the court for credit. But the entire experience was very sobering. There was only one other person in the class that had not gone to prison for violence. And everyone had a story of woe that was far greater than mine. What was surprising was that most of the men in the class (no women), were still with their spouses or significant others, even though they were imprisoned for doing bodily harm to them. I felt instantly like a fish out of water. But I hung with the class and I learned to love the guys and to respect the teacher. In the end I got a lot out of simply being in a talk group with a bunch of other men (most of my world is filled with women, not men, and there is a big difference). There was a comradeship that was empowering in it all. The way it works at Village Family is this... if you can prove financial hardship they will reduce your fee to $10 per session. If not, it is $20. There is not full coverage insurance available here. You sign in every night once a week and then fill the room. There are handouts, questions from the facilitator, and even videos to watch. Once we had a pizza party. The best part of the experience was when one of the other guys finished their round of sessions and was leaving. It was a celebration of success. My departure was not so glorified because I was an anomaly... not quite the model abuser, and maybe even the victim of abuse myself as it turned out. But I miss the comradeship. And I recommend to anyone who went through what I went thorough to think about )oining a talk group like I did, )ust to see that you are not alone.

Tamika and her colleagues are AMAZING!! I highly recommend this place. I come from an extremely…read moredysfunctional family. In life, I choose calm over chaos and distance over disrespect and I only surround myself with people who are good for my mental health, heart , and soul. You do not always have to forgive and you don't always have to forget! Sometimes, once the bridge has been burned ... there's no fixing it. As long as you know what's best for you , nothing or nobody can make you feel bad especially when they play victim. I've distanced myself from all of this and I pick and choose who I want in my life. I can't control who will try to come back into my life after years of damage and with them bringing in negative energy so what I do is I will walk away! That's the best. No words , no need to explain A THING, but to just move forward by walking away and it will place them in their place . Some people aren't good and unfortunately will find a way to try to connect with you when they see you as an opportunity for them to benefit from. And when they expect for to you to vibe with them a certain way they expect and expectations aren't met, YOU ARE now the WEIRDEST, YOU ARE now A HORRIBLE PERSON, YOU THINK YOURE BETTER than them. This is called gaslighting and playing victim. I don't play this. Above are examples of what this place has helped me go through with my personal issues . Don't hesitate coming here to speak with Tamika.

5 stars does not cut it for this amazing woman's work…read more I found Tamika by sheer luck. I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family therapy program, so I wanted someone to truly help me find my path and purpose as well as heal me so that I can be an effective therapist myself. Well, Tamika did that and much more. Tamika helped me heal in ways that I cannot even fully put into words. Tamika guided me to find my soul and my passions in life. Tamika also helped me IMMENSELY as an up and coming therapist. She validated my concerns and reignited my soul again. I truly feel as though I am a changed woman and that I am stronger than ever and I felt this change in me within the first 2-3 sessions. Tamika helped me grow as an independent woman, improved my love life, guided me in the career and other ventures, validated me, and made me feel safe. It's amazing what a great healer with amazing guidance and coaching in all aspects of life can do for someone...and Tamika is the epitome of it all. I promise you, you're in more than good hands with Tamika. You're in spectacular hands with her
