Best thing was the house was big enough for my husband, me, our son and daughter and her young family. First, owner, Nancy, was the best in helping us decide just which of their 3 gorgeous homes would be the best fit for our family. Any question I had she was spot on with a quick response. She also gave us great recommendations of things our picky family would enjoy. Her website also offers insiders guides with so many options we were never without something to do. It was one of the most stress-free trips we've taken. The home's amenities were just incredible and the decor so bright and charming. We certainly were living liking kings. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. And I even got a cook's holiday, enjoying dinner at the Sandbar- the shrimp was to die for. My husband and son were in heaven sitting on the dock fishing together. That made the whole vacation for them. Of course, we took the obligatory photos of swimming in the heated pool to send back to the relatives to make them envious- though I preferred the hot tub. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed spending each day at the beach. We've definitely decided to return for another family reunion. And with luck may be able to talk my niece into selecting Ana Marie Island for her destination wedding.

We've stayed at Tivoli in the past , and just finished a 2 week stay, to give us some long-awaited…read morerelief from a mid-Western winter. This place always does a great job, there's a big swimming pool with a broad, super-clean deck that always had lounges for everyone that wanted to take in the sun, sleep or get deep into the novel you brought on vacation. Across Beach Road is a private access to the famed Siesta Beach allowing quick access for walkers,shellers, or just carry the provided beach chair down and just sit to watch the world go by from a uniquely stress-free vantage point. The units are tasteful,and we've found can comfortably bivouac 6 grownups ( as long as they behave like grownups). Our unit had a kitchen completely equipped to prepare a Thanksgiving feast, but our culinary requirements were only what's needed for a few breakfasts, and prepping food for the barbecue out back. That BBQ area is really nice, and sometimes becomes an impromptu gathering area for guests/residents to finish the day, and converse and confer over the grills with a couple of beers . The top advantage to me, is the broad open air balcony, that begs one to sit and watch the beach, the road, and the gulf while having coffee, or watching the sunset ( a SK tradition ) before starting the evening's activities. A few of the other advantages of Tivoli are its proximity to Siesta Village , a flat half mile walk, and only a couple hundred yards to the public beach. The grounds are lovely, always immaculate, and the place has an on-site manager. This year we met Wesley, new to this manager post, but a seasoned professional of the trade, and were so impressed with how well he could navigate us through any issue when we required help. He's been a solid addition to the entire Tivoli experience. We booked the same weeks for next year on checkout, and already looking forward to another great getaway.

This is our fourth or fifth time coming to Island Garden Villas on Anna Maria Island. We arrive…read morehere and exhale, it is so relaxing. Unlike the surrounding vacation rentals, it is not a hotel, motel, condo., or home but a delightfully charming group of villas, six in total. The landscape is superb with unique touches from the tin decor, vintage lanterns, trickling fountain, tropical trees and plants, outdoor umbrella tables, and well thought out amenities. Individuality is the unique flavor at this lovely place. The beach is a short walk away, and the beach goers are fairly respectable with no music blaring, little cigarette smoke, discreet partiers, and all in all a decent crowd. There are wagons to fill up with "a day at the beach" necessities, a laundry room, a hot tub, an outdoor grill, comfortable villas with patios, and an overall peaceful, relaxing feel exuding throughout. Top that off with the "host/hostess with the mostest" Christie and Chuck, and this vacation hideaway is superb. There is even a pet cat that roams throughout saying hello to the guests. This is a spot for mellower types who respect the sincerity and kindness of the proprietors.

Pros: Visible Security. Helpful staff. Nice outdoor pool area. Large deck right before the beach (in case you want to avoid the sand). Multiple grills around the property. Family friendly. Cons: MOST ROOMS ARE OUTDATED (we stayed in 2-102. Wouldn't recommend)...they look like they haven't been remodeled since the 80's. Mildew in bathroom. Strange odor when turning on the faucets. Local Teenagers seem to be all over the property (but management and security appear to keep things under control). Would definitely return - but would request a renovated room.

She argued with me about how many days I "HAD" to book, she argued with me about whether November was a low season or high season, she informed me that she doesn't even work for the condos...i guess she volunteers. And this was after leaving several voice mails and an email. I could tell by her voice when she did call me back that she was frustrated. Informed me in a hasty manner that the offices were closed until May '25 and that the property is in the process of being sold. Which to my offense...I had no idea! I just wanted to change my reservation. Then she hung up on me. When I responded via text message she told me she will not deal with rude people and that she would cancel my reservation. I guess I'm rude because I called out her nasty attitude. She refused to give me the owners name. I guess this place does not need our business which is sad. I love SK but will take my business somewhere else. I would NOT recommend Sandbox on the Beach for any future stays.

Other 1 star review by Louis pretty much sums it up. Unfortunately we didn't see it and trusted the write up without verifying reviews. The good reviews must be by friends or family of owners. We stayed one day because it took us that long to regroup and find an alternate more appropriate lodging for the remainder of our stay. See pictures of this location. We HIGHLY recommend "The Lido Beach Resort" (that is where we ended up and within walking distance of this location). The Lido Beach Resort is truly amazing, reflects the luxury that you are paying for and without loss for the divine location. They know you are paying good money so they give you your money's worth and the restaurant at the Lido Beach Resort is very good.

I highly recommend to stay away, she proved herself to be a complete liar. The host ruined our first night of vacation. The location is very residential, not a close walk to any bars or restaurants, and at least a 15-20 minute drive to get to downtown Sarasota. The pool was dirty and cold (have pictures where you can clearly see a bunch of debris floating on top). The host also wouldn't let us stay in one suite because she had a family member staying there. He was really creepy. The suite itself was nice, but the patio was awful. It was cramped, and had no view or privacy. The space was small and not competitive with prices in the area. We were disappointed and very kindly asked to cancel our remaining reservation. The host became unresponsive and we got a notification from Airbnb that they were trying to change our reservation to keep the same dates and charge us an additional $151 for absolutely nothing. We tried to kindly reason with her but she tried blaming it on "the owners," which was odd because they advertise themselves as the owners. We have messages from the host stating they aren't the owner, yet she responds to reviews stating she is the owner. It's honestly a little crazy. Eventually, the host stopped talking to us and Airbnb had to step in and cancel for us, Airbnb told us that the host was trying to charge us two nights plus fees for staying one night. Luckily, Airbnb felt the host was unfair and sided with us and canceled the remaining reservation for a small fee. The biggest issue with this place is the host and her lies. If you look through the attached photos you can find a few instances where she lies. She tries to say she isn't charging additional fees, when I have an email asking me to approve additional charges. She says she isn't the owner when she states that she is the owner in the response. She states that Airbnb sided with her and they charged me for two nights when my receipt shows airbnb cancelled after the one night and only charged for one night. I would not recommend this location to anyone, particularly young professionals looking for a vibrant place to stay. She deserves to go out of business due to her tendency to lie.

The gumbo limbo location is just steps from the sand and water. And they have a pool and outdoor showers! All the shops and restaurants are very close less than 5 min away. The "Tulip House" in Sarasota is about 10 min from the sand, shops, and restaurants in siesta. Everything is always super cute and renovated! Appliances are always clean and nice! And the tulip house has its private pool with an amazing size backyard! We loved our stay! Due to Covid they sanitized the home so well! We felt absolutely comfortable! This was our 3rd stay with Gumbo limbo vacation Rentals!! Virginia is always available for any questions I had and she's an amazing host! Thank you!
