The groomer here will tell you she knows more than you. We have a great Pyrenees that we get shaved…read moreonce a year. And by shaved, I mean the longest guard possible so it is not a true shave. I called to schedule our appointment and told them what we needed. This was not our first visit here and not the first time we have had her shaved at this location. Upon arriving for our appointment, The groomer at Kennesaw pet Center absolutely refused to provide the service we requested. We have had many Pyrenees over 25 years and some we have shaved some we have not. The Pyrenees dog that we have now, is happiest when she gets a shave each summer. I was very frustrated when I was told when I arrived that they could not provide the services I requested. I was even more upset when I had to pay over $450 for grooming and veterinary services when I did not get what we needed. We will be looking for another groomer. The situation wouldn't have been so bad if they had notified us over the phone that they would not be able to accommodate. Our dog had been there previously and had this service there previously. You would think their records would reflect this. But I suppose new groomer new rules. And I'm not certain that a groomer should be dictating what they will and will not do when the service has been provided prior to the same dog and it is not clear if this groomer has ever actually had one on one experience with the breed. This topic is contested, even amongst diehard great Pyrenees owners but again, not sure that the groomer knows everything.

He was so comfortable with them that although I tried to do it at home he would have a better experience by letting the vet techs take care of him. They were so instrumental in my dog being able to fight 6 months after being diagnosed with stage 2/3. To save money on my little fur baby's vaccines - I typically use VIP Pet Care mobile clinics. I…read moretypically go to the ones hosted at the Pet Supermarket on Dallas Hwy or the Pet Supermarket on S Cobb Drive. Thanks to COVID19 - the VIP Pet Care mobile clinics have severely changed / reduced their hours and days - so when I visited the VIP Pet Care website looking for a clinic I could visit this week, the one located within VetIQ was one of the only ones that worked with my current schedule. I wound up driving all the way out to Kennesaw. Note - they close between 2 and 3pm each day, but the website does NOT warn you about this. I called beforehand, due to the fact that lots of folks modify their hours around holidays and the friendly technician was nice enough to warn me about that. You have to drive up to the building and use your smart phone to scan a QRC (Quick Response Code) to 'get in line' - then you have to drive away and find a place to park. This places you in a queue, afterwards, a technician will call you to 'finish checking you in.' When the technician calls, you drive back to the door and they come up to get your pup. When they have finished, they call you and you come back to the door to pay and retrieve your fur baby. Overall - I was happy with the visit. The technician was super friendly and complimented Gizmo's looks and behavior. Every pet parent loves to hear great things about their fur babies. The only reason they don't get the full 5 star rating is - 1) mobile clinics are typically used for both convenience (open late, open weekends when vet's offices might be closed) AND affordability. I had Gizmo's annual labs, kennel cough and rabies vaccines done. This cost $110. Comparatively, I could have had the exact same things done for $139 at my vet's office. Then they charged me another $90 for his Senior labs. And the Senior labs INCLUDE some of the stuff that you've already been charged for in the annual lab package. So it feels like a bit of a ripoff. My vet's office reduces your Senior Lab work price by $60 when its performed with the annual visit, so when I did the math, I realized that I actually would have saved myself about $40 if I'd had the time to wait until mid January to visit his regular vet. :-( 2) As much as I love the social distancing and measures they are taking to keep customers safe. I drove past their door TWICE before having to call them - turns out - I missed them because a massive white pick-up truck was blocking their door and signage. Every time I encounter a situation where you're asked to call an office, or use your smart phone to check in, I wonder how customers who do not have cell phones, or have older, outdated phones manage (my Mother REFUSED to get rid of her old-school flip phone and most of the times she did not travel with her cell because her car was equipped with On-Star Emergency). I love technology, but I feel like we're heading into a bit of dangerous territory with this intense reliance on cell phones. (Note: Their storefront is in an odd little location. If you're facing the Walmart entrance door, they are to the left of that door. But there's another unused Walmart entrance and Walmart garden center to the left of them. So I was thinking they were going to be to the far left or far right of the space being used by the actual Walmart store. Lol. ) Any way! That's my two cents. Ultimately, I'm a fan - and I recommend this place, but don't expect it to save you any money. Lol.
