When I went in, an older unpleasant gentleman that I spoke with said "what are you using a chainsaw". They said I would have to contact Blanco, which I did. Blanco said we should have been advised to use a metal grate to protect the finish on the sink. We were never told this. Blanco was very easy to deal with and they made it right by replacing the sink for free. However, Granite Shop was quite the opposite. They would not come to do this unless they had a job in the area, which took months. They also charged us for a reinstall in addition to us needing to get a plumber, again. They then damaged our newly refinished wood floors and accused us of lying about it, even though it was on our security cameras that nothing was placed on the floor when they were here. In fact, they removed our throw rug at the sink! I highly recommend them if you like a company that doesn't stand by the product they sell and accuse their customers of lying even with proof.

Avoid them at all costs…read more Countertops are an allowance item in my home build & I am responsible for selecting the vendor, making selections & paying for overages. Thus keeping track of the cost is important. Additionally, I AM ACTUALLY PAYNG the countertop vendor directly to offset overages with other allowances. Initially, GSoM seemed friendly, but as soon as I had questions about pricing - poof! Their helpfulness vanished faster than a magician's rabbit. It took me 4 emails of unanswered questions before they said they wouldn't share pricing with me. What this meant was a simple question about the price range for a leathered top required 4 emails with GSoM and then they emailed a full 3-page bid to my builder with separate line items for each question buried deep in the bid. It was so confusing. It was also a hassle. The builder's PM was OOO and it took me 5 days to get an email forwarded after my last question. It is absolutely ludicrous that the person writing the check (or using my CC) to pay for the countertops ENTIRELY with my own funds doesn't get the pricing shared with me directly. Imagine buying anything else and the seller doesn't tell you what it costs. Absolutely ludicrous. They are completely unaware of their cognitive dissonance, wrapped up in a little bubble where the customer is viewed as a "walking wallet" and if you don't play their games, you will get their power trips. GSoM tried to gaslight me by saying I was "dramatic" and "aggressive". Getting frustrated with their refusal to answer questions and expressing that constructively isn't dramatic. And wanting to know the price of something I'm paying for is not aggressive. When I expressed frustration, GSoM said "they'd love to work with me" but also tried to play divide and conquer with my builder by asking them if it was OK to refuse to share pricing, while simultaneously trying to preserve their relationship. Spoiler alert: It didn't work. I informed my builder that GSoM missed a golden opportunity to impress but chose the path of antagonization. I remind the builder of how great the other vendor is every day. I get that some buillders don't want customers to see pricing. You know what GSoM should do in those situations? Not share pricing. You know what they should do when it's an allowance and the customer has visbility to pricing? Share the pricing. You're a small business, not Home Depot, act like it and be flexible to each customer's needs. This is not about you. Speaking of them being a small business: their selection sucks, especialy when it comes to modern quartz selection. They have less than half the number of quartz compared to every other vendor I met with. I was able to get a great price on a beautiful MSI Calacatta Elysio in all of my bathrooms and an amazing Cambria on my island for less than GSoM was charging for very basic quartz. The upside to their hostility was that I got a much better deal at another vendor. I've built four homes and worked with so many wonderful local vendors. GSoM is, without a doubt, the worst. THE. WORST. This was a pure antagonistic power play. GSoM is the only 1 out of 9 allowance vendors on this project that wouldn't share pricing. They could have chosen to delight my builder's customer, but they chose to antagonize me. They'll do it to you. It's not worth the risk. GSoM also lies. He says they politely told me that they didn't want to work with me. Wrong. As I mentioned, when I got frustrated they sent me & my builder an email saying that they'd love to work with me. My builder asked me to try and work with GSoM, but they still didn't want to tell the person paying what the cost was. I truly don't understand their power trip, nor their lies. The only way to change GSoM's treatment is for consequences to happen, so that's why I'm posting this review. Walk, don't run, to a vendor that's not going to play power trip games with customers.

They delivered us the wrong rock, apparently because their drivers put the rock we liked in the wrong bin. So they gave us a discount (not free) on a delivery of the right stuff. The delivery driver proceeded to dump the right stuff ON TOP of the wrong stuff while we weren't home. So we had the pleasure of both separating the right grave from the wrong gravel, and had to find a use for the wrong stuff that we partially paid for. Good rock. Poor handling of logistics. Will probably come here as a last resort in the future unfortunately.

Called this company and was able to order the rock and have it delivered in 2 days. Friendly customer service overall and the quality of the rock is 100%. Ran out of rock and reordered. There was a small hiccup as the gentleman that took my order didn't actually place it but when I called later in the day to pay, this guy placed the order and was able to have it delivered the day I needed it to. Just had the 2nd delivery dropped off and had a few questions. The driver was able to answer each question and in a friendly manner. I would definitely recommend this company and thank you Madison Block for creating a positive customer experience!!

He had to check but he called me back, again less than half an hour, with a quote that with a huge reduction in shipping to their Madison location. That level of service is refreshing these days. Ultimately, you have choices - and you have every reason to expect to get what you've paid for. This ISN'T that. If this is your only option, modify the contract to partial payment and total upon SATISFACTORY COMPLETION. Otherwise Jim Muir will leave the promises in the past and you won't see him again... I had to hire another outfit to get the place presentable; Jim couldn't have cared less... I had issues with my insurance com- USAA- stating I only needed partial repairs, etc- not a whole roof replacement. Jim and another roofing con tractor both said I needed a new roof. Jim agreed to talk with USAA with me as USAA informed me the homeowner has to be involved in the call. , said he would have the roofer take pictures. When it came time ( after the new roof, soffets , etc were installed) to call USAA- Jim did not answer my texts, phone calls. He finally sent a text stating he tried to call the insurance company, and I have a substandard policy. That was the end of it.
