I founded Marlin Peer Support Services to create a space where people feel respected, heard, and supported by someone who truly understands struggle, resilience, and rebuilding.
My mission is simple:
To help people rebuild their lives, recover their confidence, and rise into a better future
History
Established in 2025.
I founded Marlin Peer Support Services in 2025 to address the critical gap in accessible peer-to-peer support services here in Michigan. After receiving my training and certification in California and accumulating over 11 years of dedicated community service, I recognized that underserved populations deserve an advocate who has truly walked in their shoes. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to rebuild their lives.
Meet the Business Owner: Lester M.
My name is Lester Marlin, founder of Marlin Peer Support Services. I am a dedicated peer support advocate with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. My work has focused on supporting people facing recovery, homelessness, reentry after incarceration, and major life transitions.
Throughout my career, I have worked directly with underserved communities, providing guidance, encouragement, accountability, and practical support. I also have experience as a Peer Support Supervisor, where I helped lead teams, mentor staff, and ensure quality support services for clients in need.
What sets my approach apart is that I believe real change happens through connection, consistency, and understanding. Peer support is about meeting people where they are, without judgment, and helping them recognize their own strength and ability to move forward.
More importantly is I have been where most of you have been. I am at my my core a peer too.
