What a lovely dinner! The menu has something for everyone! For a smaller appetite or a larger one-…read morepork, steak, fish or vegetarian ... The choices are abundant! We didn't choose the gourmet menu but it looked amazing... We were 2 adults and 3 kids... We all enjoyed our meals (children's menu was of a higher quality than most in Germany- REAL fish in fish sticks and beautiful white meat in chicken strips)... My husband ordered a plate featuring 2 different herring delicacies.. I ordered a simple soup (as I had been suffering under a stomach bug for previous 2 days) I swear that "Kraft bruhe" cured me!! I even ventured to dessert... An outstanding display of cakes, and assortment of ice cream creations ... A gin n tonic sorbet with lime and mint?!?? Oh yes yes I did! Wish I had another!!! We will definitely come back here next time we are in the area! I'll be sending my in-laws to this beautiful hotel and restaurant for sure!

Had lunch here spur of the moment after browsing a few websites for recommendations…read more There are no signs directing you to this restaurant, but if you have a GPS, is super easy to find. A few things are of note here: 1.) There ain't nuttin' fancy about this place. It's outdated and lacks charm. There are bunch of fish tanks around, the furniture is straight out of the 80's, and wood paneling even covers the ceiling. If you want fancy, this ain't your thang. 2.) The food is traditional and down to earth. Don't expect anything sophisticated. What you will get is hearty local fare that is as simple as it is delicious. We had a few dishes and they were all very good. 3.) Depending on who serves you, service can be what they call "efficient" - which really just means gruff, or it can be warm, fuzzy, and friendly. We liked it. 4.) I'd come back in a heart beat. Not because of the ambience, not because of the service, not because of the location. I'd come back because it is rare for me to keep eating even though I'm already full. The food we received was just so darn good. And, after all, when you're hungry, that's what it's all about.

Not sure this is quite Michelin star-worthy, but the interesting use of exotic fruits and spices makes it very very close. Creativity was just what I was in need of, the staff were professional but not overly friendly. Nothing was too salty or overcooked. All in all, a very good experience from beginning to end.
