Get there early if you want a donut. They were warm and delicious. We got there at 815 and the only flavors left were glazed and chocolate covered. Which is fine by me. They don't turn slimy after a few hours. They are just the right texture, thickness, consistency, etc. They offer multiple options but I'm a classic glazed donut girl myself. Forget all of the well known brands and chains. Forget the hot n ready signs. Just swing through the Levy area and pick up a donut or two or thirteen. You will be greeted and treated kindly. A little, local birdie told me that Mark's has the best doughnuts in the 501! I may have immediately screamed, "BLASPHEMY," citing the fact that Shipley's Donuts is also located in the 501! Well, I put them to the test and (sure enough) Mark's is running neck and neck, maybe with an ever-so-slight lead! I can't believe I'm uttering the words. The doughnuts were still pillowy and super fresh at 10AM-- That's one hour before closing, folks! I tried a twist (two of them actually) and a raspberry filled doughnut (and I usually hate anything-filled doughnuts--unless it's at Sweet Theory Baking Co. in Jax, FL), but I had to find out if I could be converted into a casual jelly-filled doughnut eater. This is the best donut shop in this or any surrounding state. Quality, fresh, fantastic. It was #NationalDonutDay so why go anywhere else. The absolute perfect donut. First of all I want to start by saying my husband and I aren't real big donut connoisseurs but when a colleague of mine brought in these donuts from Mark's, I was hooked. I couldn't stop hyping these incredible, airy, just sweet enough morsels of decadence to my husband that he went and bought some the very next day. They say never judge a book by its cover and he's glad he didn't either because the place itself is small and quaint, if not uninviting, but the product is in a class by itself. Mark does all the baking in the back while his daughters and mother run the front. They are of Russian decent but communication is not hindered by it. Outstanding people, outstanding place. Krispy Kreme, Daylight, Shipleys, etc... pale in comparison. The donut holes are worth the 5 minute wait if they're not ready. You can not go wrong with the original glazed. We thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry filled and Bavarian creme filled. The star so far has been the coconut coated glazed. Spectacular! These are the best donuts I have ever had. My husband and I have to move out of state soon and this will be what I miss the most! The cinnamon rolls are amazing and so are the chocolate frosted twists! My husband is nuts for the lemon filled and my mother in law loves the coconut. When you walk through the doors at Mark's, the options are slim, but what's available will not disappoint. The classic glazed and chocolate glazed are staples, and worth the trip from anywhere in the Little Rock area. They are missing maple glazed; I'm a maple fan, so I was a little shocked when a donut place didn't have it as a choice. Mark's has a slightly higher price point, but it's a good treat. For example, at another local donut shop, $3 will get me a juice and a dozen donut holes, at Mark's, $3 = holes only. I rated 4 stars instead of 5, because of the lack of customer service.
