I've been on a road trip for three weeks now, and after a mishap with my wheel a couple weeks ago, I've been a bit paranoid and called Mark's shop to check out a new slightly burned rubber odor. His incredibly helpful daughter scheduled me for the following morning, and Mark stopped what he was doing to look at my car. Fortunately, nothing was wrong and he said it was probably the catalytic converter of either my car or a car ahead of me since we were hauling up a mountain on route 26. He even invited us to take a look under the car to see what happened after my wheel flew off a couple weeks before. His third party opinion that everything was good with the car, and echoing that the tires and rotor and all pieces were sound for the rest of my road trip was very encouraging. Plus, he and his daughter were just very kind people, and we chatted about life and family for a while afterwards. Highly recommend Mark's service! Being out of state with an automotive battery that is nearing its expiration I began to see symptoms of my Acura MDX keyless entry not opening the door as expected. I saw Mark's Auto Service reviews and gave them a call. They immediately dropped what they were doing and performed a battery test. I was thinking out of stater, small garage I was looking at $200+. The battery test Mark assured me my battery was fine and my alternator was performing as expected. The problem he found was my FOB's battery. NO CHARGE! Needed a new fuel pump just moved to Seaside called him up and told him what other mechanic said he quoted me much less but then charged me 5 times more and then gave me my car back with all me dash lights still on and radio out of commission when I called him and asked about it he got completely hostile and defensive with me saying he only fixed the fuel pump and wasn't told to do anything else and I told him aren't you suppose to be running a business here and don't you want to make as much money as you can by telling customers everything that needs to be fixed and leaving it up to them if they want to have him do the work or not? The guy has a real problem with people, bad business man, bad attitude , terrible mechanic DONT GO THERE!!!!! read more

Well daughter got a "your going to die" free inspection report (Renton Washington) where she lives. We made an appointment with Mark to have work done here in Seaside. Mark has parts ,and is ready to go, but Mark is an honest man . Calls and tells us brakes have 50 % on front and 80% on back yet. Checks the car over and says come back in 30,000 miles. I was visiting from Portland, and had an engine light come on. I googled mechanics in Seaside, and came up with Mark. He showed me the spark plug wires that mice had chewed through (!). Mark was able to get the part and get it replaced within 45 minutes. If I hadn't stopped, I would've had a really big problem. They fixed the problem quickly efficiently and well. He is a rip off and bad attitude said my car would be ready in 2 days and it took him a week and a half and he charged me almost double what he quoted me without calling to let me know or ask if it was okay for him to proceed. He's very shady, dirty and is so rude. When I first arrived he must of walked back and forth past me 5-7 times and didn't even say I'll be right with you or hello or anything it was like having a customer was bothering him.
