On our way to Paris on the Eurostar, I went on the hunt for food to take on the train. The M&S Food shop stocked an abundant variety of takeaway food as well as a smaller grocery selection.
Over the last few years, the Simply Food branches of M&S have been trying to muscle in on the success of places like Pret a Manger but it has been a slightly difficult transition to make. Their food is certainly appealing to look at and does taste lovely but it still looks more like a supermarket than a proper takeaway shop.
The prices are another factor which makes me have to think long and hard about eating here and if I was better organised, I could reproduce a lot of their food at home.
However, this was a good option to get some snacks and lunch for the Eurostar journey. read more
