Right next to the beautiful river with ducks. Unfortunate that the deli across the road has closed (anyone want to buy & run a deli???! Haha). My toddler and my 8 month old both loved it. Plus the park had built up areas to make slight hills around the sides of it secluding it a little from the roads. One part was even in the shade and looked a great spot for a picnic. There's a basketball area, two completely separate playgrounds with slightly different equipment to most other playgrounds,a sheltered area with table and chairs, off street parking and a cricket pitch. Oh p;lus a water fountain and bin. Unfortunately no toilets either though. There is an old building on one side all fenced off. Not sure on their plans for this space.

This is basically a small park that sits at the back of the town, next to the river. I like it…read morebecause there is some natural charm about the place, particularly the clay cliffs that rise above the river on the other side. There just seems to be some pleasant and relaxing feel about this place, one that I sort of like to be able to sit down and simply enjoy nature. Of course, people also like to come here with their dogs, and it is certainly a nice place to walk them.

It takes a lot for me to give a beach 5 stars, I mean... I really hate sand. I've never got the…read morewhole beach thing - the water always seems too cold, sand is annoying, and I'm always chucking glances over at my stuff to check someone's not stealing it. Despite this, I love Moana Beach. My family home is just 5 minutes up the road, so it's always been the beach I come back to. The best bit about the beach in my opinion, is the dog exercise area, a section of the beach where your dogs can just roam free all year round. For the hairy friend in my life, this is just absolute heaven. Outside of daylight savings hours the entire beach becomes leash free. My huge hairy border collie X old english sheep dog looks like a drowned rat in seconds. During Summer the beach is packed, and the Moana Surf Life Saving Club patrols the beaches. Across the road is a great little cafe (Deep Blue Cafe) where you can get a meal, or just grab an ice cream. Moana is definitely my favourite beach, but if we could just get the water the temp it is in Fiji perhaps I'd consider going in!

With a few upgrades, mainly for younger children, it could get there. It's a massive space with netball court, tennis court, soccer field with goals PLUS playgrounds, bike paths and a skate park. The skate park is pretty goos and a little bigger than some others around. It has a better run off area and lots more space for people to watch. Plus a rail and half pipes and the usual skating stuff. Could be used by skaters, riders, boarders and bladers alike. There was a small playground but it would only keep my child occupied for about 5 minutes. There were also a few chairs around the place, some shade and a drinking fountain. There is a proper big old brick toilet block on one side of the park which was fine to use. Take a few balls and your portable BBQ and you could have a really nice day out here. Plenty of parking close by. But I would expect it would be really busy during sport seasons.

This reserve is right next to the recreation centre and part of it is the skate park they refer to…read moreand use for certain activities but it is also available to anyone. There is seating, a table, shelter, plenty of trees for shade around the outsides but none over the main larger playground area. There is some shade over the cool spider man looking net thing the kids can play on though. For drinks and toilets you would need to go into the rec centre and hope it was when they were open. Nice place to stop for an hour or so though. Plenty of lawned area to run around or kick a footy.
