I texted her the night before with my hotel room number, and she never replied. Trusting she'd be professional, I waited until 5:00 AM the next morning (I had to be ready at 7 AM) -- she never showed. I sent five texts and made multiple calls on August 30 and again on September 2, with no response. She finally replied on September 11 with an unprofessional excuse, claiming her assistant didn't save the date, even though she had personally confirmed our appointment on June 13 and accepted two Venmo payments. Anyone who claims to be "highly professional" should also provide accurate invoices and contracts, yet I had to ask her twice to fix errors in both before the event. This is why black businesses have such a hard time prospering. I called this business starting on…read moreWednesday, inquiring about having a bundle of hair sewn into a wig I was currently wearing. I was told they were booked to capacity on that Wednesday but walk-ins (first come first served) were available on Thursday, Friday & Saturday starting at 9am and that it was $25 per bundle to install. On Thursday I called before leaving my home inquiring again about coming in to get the bundle sewn into my hair. I was then told coming in would be pointless because the person who "deals with wigs" wasn't going to be there until Saturday. Would've loved to have this information when I initially called on Wednesday. I then waited until Saturday to come in, got up and left my place a few miles away to get to the salon at 9am; I arrive at 9:05AM and it's full of people who look like they've been there much longer than 9am. I'm asked my name and number to put me on the list. And then explain what I'm there for and I guess they recognize me based off the service I'm asking for. The girl taking my name calls over the girl who apparently "deals with wigs" and she won't even come all the way up the short staircase to address me and the service I'm asking for until the secretary asks her to be serious. Once she comes up the stairs she asks AGAIN what I'm wanting done; I explain I have a bundle I want sewn into my wig...and she tells me she can do it but I need to take the wig off. The first time I'm hearing this information; or I would have washed and prepped the wig the night before. Also, what type of establishment expects you to come up out your wig right there on the spot? I tell her I can't do that because I'm WEARING THE WIG and came from far to get to the salon. She says "Okay" and walks away. So I'm just standing there; and she shouts across from the salon "She gonna have to get a maintenance". Meaning I'll be paying for my wig to be washed, dried and sewn...the first time I hearing this... I mention to her in passing "I was told it was just $25 per bundle to be sewn", she laughs and says "Oh. That's what you were told?" And looks away. After that I just left, because from Wednesday I had been dealing with unprofessional people; getting the run around until Saturday. And I finally get here and as I suspected it was a complete mess and no accountability on their part. Needless to say before I left I called a nearby salon and they took me as a walk in and had absolutely no issue sewing my ONE bundle into my hair at a low cost. I'm from New York City, getting a bundle sewn into your hair isn't rocket science or uncommon so I found it laughable at how bewildered they were every time the topic came up. And it's also embarrassing how inefficient their communication skills are. Step your cookies up. Do better.
