The Goethe Institute is a German cultural institute and provides courses in German at various…read morelevels. You can sign up to their evening courses, which can be done intensively or once a week throughout the year. They also provide courses for exams, small groups or individuals. I've taken some courses there to improve and maintain my German and really it is the best place to do so with your outside mainstream education. They provide courses across the spectrum of learner levels and are really good at assessing your level if you're not sure yourself. Their teachers tend to be interesting and tailor the classes to suit to the level and the type of learner. For example they're not going to make adults learn with kids materials. The courses themselves take place in this Georgian building which is central enough for most people to be able to reach after work. If you want to learn German this is the place to go.

Compare Dublin to the Goethe Institut in Accra, where I'm about to move; classes are 1/8 of the price and include 1/3 more teaching time. I think I lucked out big time with the teacher here - she was always prepared, enthusiastic, thorough, patient, and lovely. She helped us all make leaps and bounds of progress. The days we had substitutes were truly dreary in comparison. Do see if you're at the right level to be taught by Tanja when you sign up for classes. As a teacher myself, I enjoyed my time in Tanja's classroom as an exemplar of great teaching. Without her, I wouldn't have gotten an incredible score on my end-of-pre-intermediate exam - I hope she gets a big bonus! Two NBs: classrooms can get cold in the winter, and Pablo Picante is just around the corner so you can perfect your Spanglish after the Deutschkurs.

I absolutely adore languages and though I did try and learn some French and Improve my Italian off the BBC website it still wasn't the same experience as being a part of a class with a real, living, breathing teacher in front of you. In past semesters, they did offer quite a large variety of language courses, but it seems that this semester they're focusing more on English and some Irish and Spanish. Fret not if languages aren't your thing they also offer lifestyle courses in things like knitting and bellydance! If you just can't get your head around the newspaper headlines they also offer introductions to Irish politics and economics - they sound like real doozies!

To be honest it is long time ago but when I was a child my school was slightly better than this colleague. Old fashion style with some modernities like projectors and pentium IV computers. The building is old and needs renewals. Let´s go on with the positive things: very close to the city center, good offer for night coursers and very competitive prices compared to other colleagues. I am attending CMI at the moment, and I find the college great central location in Dublin City ,the…read morecollege is well equipped with relax room with free coffee and tea small kitchen and computer's to study on.The teacher's are very knowledgeable and helpful, I am studying for Health and safety occupational certification, it is one evening a week and its fir 6 month's , with online support from Cmi online module called Moodle in which you can review your class work every week.We have exam in January 25th for first part if the course in which you have to get 50% results to go on to 2nd part if course, there is a lot to study for this course and I you wont pass from attending 1 evenings class you must also study at home ,if I had to any thing negative to say I think the college should offer 3 days classroom studying for the amount you need to learn , as you know it's hard to study at home so me personally I would prefer to study in the college you learn much more.I would recommend the CMI college for further education and certification courses. The teachers are excellent and approachable, they always had an ear for your problems and a practical solution. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

I just completed my masters in journalism here and I must say I really enjoyed the course. A lot of…read morethe lecturers work in the industry and have some great advice to offer. I also felt the modules and break down of the course were good overall, and you'll end up with a massive portfolio of work by the end of it. Within the building, it has a great canteen on the top floor and a well run library that offers a nice space for studying your ass off. The only down side was that there were practically no social events so, although it's a small college, it's difficult to meet anyone outside your own class. Overall I learned a great deal and I was very happy with how the year turned out. Worth your consideration.

Very practical and budget friendly ! Emer was my contact. She was perfect. 1* for the Information : The moment I booked the training I suddently realized I had a dozen questions popping up. I simply called Professional Development and was transferred to the person in charge of answering those questions. She took the time to listen to my queries and respond very accuratly. It litterally lifted a weight off my shoulders. 1* For the Trainer : Pat was professional from beginning to end. Everyday was a machine well oiled. lt included theory and pratical exercizes. Breaks were punctuating the day in a smart way. I remember noticing how fast the time went and how interesting the training was. 1* For the Class : The participants were coming from all backgrounds. It was really enjoyable to share our respective experience and see how the tool for Lean Six Sigma could apply in every context. Everybody was very respectful and considerate of each other's profession. Minus 1* For the location : The Carlton hotel in Tyrrelstown was a great place for the training. But the location so far from city center made it very difficult to commute in the morning. The bus 40D wouldn't always be on time or even be available. The taxi was 27 euros a trip. It would be great to maybe add transportation arrangements or make a deal with a taxi company. I am sure I am not the only one who depends on public transportation.
