One time there were only barstools left in the waiting room so I put my kids there but then it was hard to get them off so that we could follow my 10 year old to her appointment. I've never gotten to talk to the orthodontist. I thought maybe the orthodontist just doesn't speak to parents but then my husband took my daughter and the orthodontist spoke to him. We found out after a couple of months that because my daughter needed chains that she would have been better off with braces but that wasn't discussed with us prior to be given that decision between braces and Invisalign. Why not just tell us Invisalign wasn't an option? One time I was surprised they gave her trays because she still needed oral surgery. Get rid of the barstools and replace with normal chairs that people can get out of! In addition the welcome packet is flashy but gives no pertinent information. Give more data about braces verses Invisalign in the welcome packet. No information about how to clean or take care of trays. You would think they would include directions when they give them to you. We've obviously researched online but there has been conflicting information. I suppose they must ask if we have any questions but this is the first time we're doing Invisalign so we don't know what we don't know. Also keep in mind that even if a parent comes with multiple children that they love every one of their children and want to be included and given the right information so they can take care of their kid's oral health. I had actually wanted to get Invisalign while my daughter was getting hers done too but I don't have the support to deal with this office.

I started my treatment at Greenbrier, had one of my appointments at Kempsville and now, I'll receive the remainder of my treatments in Edinburgh. So far, so good! I'll update this review after the completion of my overall treatment, but in the 4 months since I got braces, I am already seeing lots of improvements and am waiting anxiously for the day these braces come off! Dr. Vorhees is a great guy, super nice as are the staff that supports him and the other docs. Love all the Orthodontic assistants that I've had at 3 offices. They are very efficient, talk you through what they are doing and their next step and always checking in to see if you're ok. They try to make you the most comfortable in an already uncomfortable situation. Rebecca was my care coordinator and she is awesome! Super personable and explains all the details and answers any questions. Notes: - You must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. They give you a Covid-19 questionnaire to fill out at check in and take your temp. - Consultation is free, but once you decide on moving forward, there is a fee to get the fancy digital photos taken of your mouth so the doc can assess the work. - Dr. Vorhees jumps around from office to office (this is the reason for one of my visits at Kempsville). I just didn't want to wait that time so I followed him instead, but they do their best to make an appointment at your home clinic. - You get a passport and if you fill it up for good behavior (maintenance), I think you get a gift card for coffee....yeeeeeees! They offered me $200 credit if we DONT take the retainer , obviously I declined the retainer and the insulting refund . We will be filing a small claims case in the morning . We have an appointment with another local orthodontist tomorrow afternoon, hopefully we can get to the bottom of what they were doing wrong .
