I came across Mark's phone number while I was searching for more information on a property that I had found on Zillow. I gave him a call looking for more info and he was so helpful, knowledgeable and kind right from the get-go. Let me tell you what happened.
That first phone call we spoke for a good 30 minutes-- not about the property but mostly just getting to know each other and our business philosophies. I really liked that he was Extremely experienced in the San Diego real estate scene, having 30 plus years of experience. He reached broker status by experience and owned and operated his own real estate company for many years. What's even more impressive is that after all that--he realized that owning the company and being a broker, overseeing many agents, took him away from doing what he truly loves-- Helping his clients!! So he switched directions and now he works as a realtor where he has time to give each of his clients his full attention. How cool is that!? It's not about the money with Mark. It's really about him connecting with people, doing what he loves and doing what he's good at! Not only did I like his business philosophy and history but also I liked that Mark is such a positive-uplifting person and his upbeat attitude is apparent from your first conversation with him. After speaking with him I knew that he is the kind of person that I want on my team.
When we hung up Mark immediately followed up with the property I was interested in and called me back--communicating with me every step of the way--letting me know what the sellers needs were and advising me on appropriate actions we should take next.
Fast forward a bit. We ended up submitting an offer, negotiating on the offer, doing all of the required inspections, financing, paperworks etc. and I ended up closing escrow on my very first home!! It's my dream-come-true, a duplex in Old Town.
I could not have been more pleased with my purchase, the whole process and Mark's assistance in having a knowledge, knowing what to do, answering all my questions, and taking care of the details.
And let me just say that I was skeptical that I could maybe do this process by myself. You can't lol. You need a professional to make sure the legal side is correct, to draft the paper work, interact with the other agents (because they won't talk to you and wouldn't give you to details that they would divulge to another agent), ask the right questions during the walk-through and to come up with creative ideas and solutions. And it gets better. Mark's expertise doesn't end at the sale. As he puts it. The closing of the sale is just the beginning.
In my case, I bought a duplex and this is my first time being a landlord. Unlike some relators who sell real-estate but don't own real estate investments of their own (This is beyond me! And would instantly disqualify my business), Mark is in the game--owning and renting out his own properties. He offers his guidance about being a landlord, finding tenants, evictions, bugs --anything and everything having to do with owning a personal property or an investment property he's only a phone call away and usually answers the first time you call or calls you back promptly.
I would recommend Mark to list your property and to assist you in being the buyers agent (as he did in my case) if you need a good guy on your team. When people ask me if I know of a good San Diego relator, I refer them to Mark! He's really a pleasure to work with--He's extremely charismatic, good spirited, willing to go to battle for you, knowledgeable, experienced, prompt, communicative and makes you feel comfortable. This whole process was such a great experience and I can't wait to do it again!
Call him! You won't regret it! :) read more
