She said if I continued having pain to return in a couple of months. It was clear that same day that the problem was not resolved. I didn't want to wait a couple months so I found a different dentist. He made 4 adjustments over the period of a year, and I continued to have pain. Finally, he said he needed to remove the crown to see what was going on. It turned out that Dr. Franco had left decay under the crown. The tooth was very irritated so he put a temporary on with the hope it would quiet down. It did not. Ultimately, he had to pull it. I wrote to Dr Franco and asked her to return the money that I had paid for the crown, and to pay to replace the tooth. She returned the money for the crown, but she did not pay to replace the tooth. The letter she sent with the refund said "as a courtesy" she was refunding the money. No apology, no acknowledgment of the decay she left under the crown, and no acknowledgment that I lost the tooth.

Now for the best part. The work Dr. Amble & his associates perform is beyond superior. I have never had such excellent care. The crown & bridge work they do is marvelous. The dental hygenists do thorough cleanings while making the patient's comfort a priority.

Have had good experience with her as well as the hygenists and the receptionist (Robin). Robin and Dr. Stead were able to accomodate me during the very next day they were open to re-cement a cap, which I appreciated. Dr. Stead does give off an aura of caring and my impression is that she does a thorugh job during exams. I have always felt that choosing a dentist is sort of like what a condemed man feels when choosing his method of execution (some states do offer a choice) but I've come to believe that if one has to make the choice I've made a good one with Dr. Stead, though we do differ on the necessity of routine X-rays which, because of the heightened brain cancer risk, small as it may be,I will not be getting anymore. I've had cavities filled, a root canal done, and two crowns, plus my wife goes here, too. They're gentle, they're nice, they're local (St Paul Mac/Groveland neighborhood), and when they have to do something that my dental insurance doesn't cover (root canal or crowns), the cash price is reasonable (the same as when I used to get root canals and crowns done at my old dentist in the suburbs. Note that there's someone who put up a bad review here, which I was so surprised at and it prompted me to write my own review. Yeesh, sometimes things are a judgment call, and to give a dentist 1-star because of getting a second opinion is not appropriate, in my opinion. Second opinions are always nice, but medicine is an art as well as a science, and judgment calls have to be made all the time--so to put my 2 cents in, I'm stating that my (and my wife) are 100% sure of Dr. Colalzy and his staff, and definitely trust them. Feel free to check out my other reviews--I live in St. Paul in the Lex-Ham neighborhood, I'm local, and you can rely on my opinion to be 100% honest. I recently had a bad experience at another office that reminded me how much I enjoy this place and their professionalism as well. It's just kindness. Dr Collaizey Is really a wonderful guy. He makes you feel like he genuinely cares about your teeth and their health and how it affects you as well as your budget. Everything feels well explained and not like you're getting ripped off. Unfortunately, the document he gave me did not include the surgeon's phone number. This afternoon I called Park Dental Mac Groveland to get that number. The person who answered the phone asked for my name. Then she asked for my date of birth. Then she asked for my address. Then she asked for my phone number. Then she said she would have someone call me on Monday. I explained that I was simply requesting a phone number for the referral I was given this morning, so I could call today and make an appointment. She said she couldn't do that because of HIPA rules, but would have someone call me on Monday. All this to get a simple phone number for a referral I got this morning? I appreciate the excellent care I get from the dentists and professional associates at Park Dental. I wish I could get comparable service from their front desk.

He said my wife didn't need veneers and that her teeth were beautiful...she only needed braces. This was a surprise; we never thought about braces for a 34 year old. In addition, he added that veneers would look bad in 10 years or so, as the gums recede with age...but he'd do it if we insisted. Now, two years later, my wife has beautiful, straight teeth! And the braces were two thousand dollars cheaper than veneers Currently, I also see Dr. Tom, along with our daughter. In addition, I've talked a friend and his wife into switching to him.
