Ulm is not large so this hotel is a good hotel option when in town. It is right on the danube river where u can take a stroll, a run, or just sit and feed the ducks and swans. You get a great view of the river from any room - and possibly the Muenster cathedral on one side of the hotel.
Decor throughout the hotel is outdated, but the rooms are comfortable. Common amenities are not included w the room so you must pay extra (e.g., wireless/wired internet, iron (not common in EU), breakfast). The hotel does not provide you w/more than hand soap and a low quality all in one body/hair gel. It is equipped w a hairdryer. They offer same day returned laundry service Monday through Friday if you drop your laundry off by 9 a.m.
Breakfast buffet is about 18 euro which includes a vast selection of hot and cold items, juices, teas, coffees, and even champagne. Dinner prices range. You have the option of having dinner at their Panorama Restaurant, room service (few items), or Piano bar (few items). The Panorama Restaurant on the 16th floor has beautifully presented and delicious entrees. The view would be nice if did not get a lot of reflection on the windows. Menus are only in German and not all servers have the patience to explain what's available on the menu. Overall, service is good. This restaurant can get expensive if you order an appetizer, entree, dessert, and alcoholic beverages.
The piano bar is open in the evenings and can be enjoyable with live music. Most performers sing pretty old songs (a lot of American music). It is very smoky as smoking inside the piano bar is allowed. Leave your coat in your room if you don't want it to wreak of smoke. Service is pretty good. The drink list is extensive. Drinks range from 4 to 13 euros. 10% tipping is acceptable. They also Have a limited menu of snack and other food items.
The gym is rather small w a treadmill, bike, and an elliptical. The pool is in the same area and is rather large. Signs for the men's and women's changing areas are not visible. I accidentally walked in on a man drying off his nether-regions. Yikes!!! :-X
The staff at the front desk were accommodating and helpful when approached.
They accept most major credit cards (even w/o the chip). read more
